Psychiatrist recommendations? Does anyone have a good psychiatrist that they can recommend for 32/f in the area for anxiety/depression?

Caroline Stayer-Brewington over at the NC Center for Resiliency helped me get back on my feet a couple of years ago. NCCR is just over the border in Chapel Hill, about a block away from Trader Joe's. Caroline uses a Somatic Experiencing approach which helped me focus less on the circumstances that contributed to my anxiety and depression to focus more on my body's response, learning to recognize and respond. Good luck finding a good fit and great job reaching out!

Do you specifically need a psychiatrist for medications? It's not Durham, but not far, I recommend Amanda Dorn, M.D. at [FPPA](http://www.fppa.com/) in Cary. If you are looking for therapy I recommend [Annette Perrot](https://www.triangleanxietycenter.com/), Ph.D., in Durham

If you’re looking for a psychiatrist that can help with both meds and therapy I would recommend Dr. Rachel Poliquin.

I’ve been seeing various people at Carolina Partners in Mental Healthcare for a while and have had good luck with them (and they work with most insurance). For medication, I’ve been seeing Karla De Beck at the Chapel Hill office; for therapy, I’ve had good results with Louis Sawyer at their Durham location—very Buddhist/mindfulness-focused therapy practice.

OP - are you me? Im also looking for a good psychiatrist, mostly for self-diagnosed seasonal depression. Please do share if you find someone good.

Robin Casey at North Raleigh Mental Health and Wellness. She has an office in Chapel Hill and offers video appointments, too.

For an option you may not have considered, I really enjoy the psychiatrist I found through the "Dr. On Demand" program. All appointments are via video chat on either my phone or laptop, which is incredibly convenient. If you need labs, your orders are sent to a LabCorp of your choosing. My psychiatrist is Dr. Holly Love (she studied at UNC-Chapel Hill), who has been incredibly kind and helpful! I also have anxiety/depression with a bipolar component. The other great thing about Dr. On Demand is that if you don't "click" with a psychiatrist, then you can simply book an appointment with someone else. There are tons of doctors to chose from. Good luck & hope you start feeling better!
