Dr. Mercedes Rios-Young is a naturopathic doctor (www.drmercedes.net). There is also an integrative medical practice, a husband and wife team - Virginia Integrative Medicine (www.healthyvim.org). I have heard good things about both.

I second Janna ' s comment about Dr Sarita Bennett! VERY COOL DOC.

Dr. Campbell at Albemarle Square Family Medicine is an MD who has also studied with Andrew Weil and she is amazing!

Dr. Smyth is an awesome pediatrician. She's at Palmyra Medical Associates, 17 Centre Ct, 434-589-6644.

If you're okay with going into Cville, we really loved Dr Periello at Pediatric Associates of Charlottesville downtown. She was wonderful and we hated leaving her. And they have after hours urgent care until 9 and an after hours nurse after that you can call.

I love Spring Creek. Dr. Montelese is great, but hard to get to. The last several times, I used Andrew Hawkins. He is young, so will be around and he even called me at home to check on how I was doing. I think he is great.

I love Dr Dagli for myself and husband. Pediatric Associates, Dr Knight 1 st option and Dr Periello as my 2 nd option for my daughter. They are in town. I've heard good things about the doctors at the lake. We are moving back to the lake but we will still use them. Amazing care. They always take their time with us.

Palmyra Medical accepts Tricare - however the issue may be if you have Tricare Orime. We had to drop Prime and move to Standard to find someone out here. If you are active duty, that may be a problem. Good luck in your search!

I also second Downtown Family Health on Avon St. We see Jackie Curtis and she is amazing with the kids. We have truly loved going there. We used to go to Palmyra Medical, but they got a little too pushy for my liking...we liked the doctors personally, but their views and ours were becoming more and more different.

My girls use Dr Smythe as well, she truly is awesome! And Palmyra Medical will see adults as well. Piedmont Pediatrics will only see kids

My family goes to UVA Zion there are a lot of good docs there. Dr Clebak and NP Bednar practice there and out of the office by the main gate beside ace hardware.

Melissa Spring Creek Medical takes Tricare Prime and both the doctors are nice. They also have a nurse practioner. I don't think any of the pediatric offices in Charlottesville take Prime. My kids go to Orange Pediatrics that is part of UVA. It's crazy how there is no other pediatrician closer with UVA, but they will send you to UVA Specialists in Charlottesville if needed.

We use Dr. Mayo at Piedmont... She is wonderful and so good with kids. Plus they have extended hours which comes I'm handy for emergencies.

I have used Spring Creek Family Medicine before for myself and my daughter. We were pleased with the care we received there.

Ok oh TyLer S-g .. i am looking at a number of factors and Dr. Calhoun is probably who I will check into bc of convenience and my dentist is right across the way there also. Less running around on days off when I have appts.

I usually just use one of the nurse practitioners at Charlottesville Family Medicine for well-patient checkups, but when I needed to talk about a specific concern, they were good about getting one of their doctors to consult. If you want to go straight to a doctor, Dr. Stewart was good. The whole practice seems to be pretty decent, really. They have a location in the Mill Creek area and one out at Berkmar.

John MacKnight at UVA. He's dual board-certified in internal med and orthopedics - probably not taking new patients, but very kind and a good listener... Good luck!

First Med for walk-in appointments. I recommend them when you already have an idea as to what's wrong. Forest Lakes is good too. They like it when you have bizarre problems.

I actually do have eczema, it sucks! I have a really great dermatologist, her name is Dr. Bridget Bryer 215 Wayles Ln Suite 150 Charlottesville, VA 22911 - in my case, it is an autoimmune disease. I also saw Dr. Magee, but she wasn't able to help me, or provide any solutions other than a cream. My case is severe and I just started taking Humera, its starting to help. Good luck!!
