Alex Redworth, when you come to see me on Sunday, ask me about SCENAR - drug-free pain relief, if this is going to be an ongoing challenge for you because of your profession, then this will be invaluable for you. http://www.equilibrium-health.com/our-services/scenar-pain-relief/

I've worked with a number of work related issues caused by overworked muscle groups and imbalance. I would recommend Gua Sha as an effective treatment to release tissue or a tool assisted therapist. You can work on the spine all you want but the muscle will soon help the spine to revert back to the original posture, especially if the posture is trained in, repetitive training of the wrong kind. Indian clubs are great to learn and will help mobilise the shoulder. Likely cause, weak glutes, weak chest, tight lower lats, poor ankle mobility/stability. Poor glute/hamstring activation. The glutes and hamstrings help to power up and can help stabilise your upper body, without intervention the upper body is doing all the work, tough going for most, especially for prolonged periods.

hi Alex, i recommend Jemma of 3 d pysiotherapy, not only will she cure the symptons but she'll also look at whats causing the issues and help correct them as they say prevention is better than cure, she even comes recomended from LBN stalwart Rick Notley https://www.facebook.com/3 dphysiotherapy/?fref=ts
Louise J. replied:
Alex, I would recommend a different approach. Contact the lovely Rachel Stevens. She's at Frampton-on-Severn and she teaches The Alexander Technique. Not only will this alleviate your current symptoms but she will be able to show you how to work without causing further damage. So, it's a long-term solution rather than a short-term fix. www.backcareandposture.co.uk

Can someone explain to me the difference between physiotherapist and a chiropractor? and suggest which one might be better for general aches and pains and bad back due...
Brett C. replied:
I wouldn’t recommend a Tui Na Therapist. I’m sure some are very good. But the course can be done over a weekend and is no more advanced than a Massage Therapists qualification. If you’re having a serious issue then you’ll need to see a Professionally Regulated Chiropractor, Physiotherapist or Oesteopath. GENERALLY speaking: Physio’s do muscles Chiropractors do backs and posture Oesteopath’s do Joints That is a VERY GENERAL GUIDELINE. It depends on the extent of the issue. Further to this advice, I wouldn’t use the NHS, go private. Go for a well established independent surgery in your area. Check for referrals and ask on community boards for any recommendations. Don’t ask “what do you think of XYZ clinic” the answers you get won’t be balanced... Ask for recommendations and see what companies come up. Feel free to message me with any specifics - I’ve been a Personal Trainer for 6 years and have seen people with all manner of injuries from fractured spines to fibromyalgia to prenatal and post-op serious illness care. I also refer to 2 local Physio’s, 3 massage therapists and 2 Chiropractors.

Hi Emma I am a Human and equine osteopath based in cheltenham. Osteopathy treats the muscles and the joints by massage, manipulation and stretching. I mainly treat horses and riders, as well as having my own horse, so know exactly what you're talking about! I am also a strength and conditioning coach so can help with exercise to reduce the risk of the problems coming back as bad! My number is 07912629350 and website www.pb-equestrian.co.uk or PB Equestrian on Facebook - hopefully we can chat soon x

Jonathan gibbins wrecked my horse and wasn't helpful in getting her sorted she was fine before he saw her I booked in for a check up and after she was in a lot of pain he didn't want to come out for another week each time and when I had a lady called Andrea Pole she recomended that the vet came straight out. These things can happen but his attitude stank and wanted to charge each time for putting right the damage. He also stormed off the yard when she was in so much pain He couldn't then treat her so I would personally advise against
Felicity J. replied:
Andrea Pole recomended she was very gentle and was actually concerned about the horse not in taking your money and doing a runner.
