Anyone have vet recommendations? My pup needs some shot updates :)

We love Dr Riddile and Dr McCormick at Companion. We've done everything from routine care to being referred to the vet school to sad euthanasia, and they're caring and compassionate and good vets.

Dr. Young in Christiansburg has the most reasonable rates for shots because he doesn't add an office visit charge.

I would never trust Dr. Young with one of my animals ever again. I urge you to research your vet's possible charges with the medical board. Dr. Young has several: http://www.dhp.virginia.gov/enforcement/cdecision/cd_Disclaimer_vn.asp?license=0301002988

They may be older, but there are several incidents of misconduct: http://www.dhp.virginia.gov/Notices/VetMed/0301002988/0301002988Order05272008.pdfhttp://www.dhp.virginia.gov/Notices/VetMed/0301002988/0301002988Order11152004.pdfhttp://www.dhp.virginia.gov/Notices/VetMed/0301002988/0301002988Order10032003.pdf

Dr. Young had his right to do surgery revoked, if thats not saying something.....
Jackie C. replied:
Elizabeth, I can find nothing that confirms your statement. Please post your documentation. This is the only record of restrictions placed on him in 2007 that I could find. I know he doesn't do surgeries anymore but I believe that it is his decision not to do them. http://www.dhp.virginia.gov/Notices/VetMed/0301002988/0301002988Order05272008.pdf
Jackie C. replied:
I don't mean to be argumentative, Elizabeth, but I have owned a web site and message board for over 15 years. The one rule I have is any statement made on it has to be proven to be accurate, otherwise it is only an opinion. In my opinion Dr. Young is a licensed vet and is perfectly capable of administering routine shots. Since he has not been reprimanded since 2008 I assume he has his practice in order. Barring any documentation you may provide to the contrary, I see no reason not to use him for routine shots. However, I don't believe he is the right person to take your sick or injured animal too.
