Time for the annual dog vaccines and check ups. What veterinarians do you recommend in North Roanoke County area?
Michelle D. replied:
All the time we had Nancy, we drove to Rocky Mount too - for Dr. Eric Lorens at The Pet Clinic of Rocky Mount. If I lived in Roanoke, I wouldn't think twice about making the trek down there. He was great & coordinate cancer care at NC State, and when we needed, came to the house to help our 18 year old cat Nusnea cross the bridge, instead of spending her last moments in fear in the car.

Hanging Rock on Loch Haven. Dr "Todd" is great
Karin M. replied:
For that, go to Angels of Assisi downtown or to Dr. Carter at Old Dominion Vet in Troutville.

We use Seven Hills on Waterlick Road. We have taken all of out pets there for many years.
Sarah M. replied:
Hi ! I have used them to see my ferrets - but they don't have the distemper vaccine. I use Amherst Vet Clinic 434-929-1010, very knowledgable and have distemper. One vet sees ferrets. I also go yearly or if problems to Roanoke Exotic - which is a drive but I like having an expert take a peek at least once a year
Amy T. replied:
I have to correct my comment....I called Seven Hills today to make an appointment and they said they don't see ferrets. I told her we are already established patients? She came back and said they only see my ferrets. Too bad....Dr. Tall is a great vet and is very knowledgeable!

We like Dr Noe at Bedford animal hospital. We took foxie to a place in cave spring area (can't remember the name) but they told us she would have to go to VA Tech and have 2 separate surgeries and it cost about $3000.. And of course we couldn't afford that so a friend told us about Bedford. Dr. Noe did the surgery and it was $254. And she was fine that was about 4 years ago.
