I am looking for a recommendation for a local dog trainer who can come to the home environment. Thanks if you can help!

Try Puppy Love Training - Great trainer! She does classes at America's Country Store, but will also come out for individual consulting with you.

We used Rudy from leash in hand. He creates a personalized program for your needs and comes to your house for the initial assessment and then takes the dog for training for several days (he picks up the dog in the morning and then brings the dog pack in the evening) and then at the end of the training he shows you in your home how to continue the training. http://www.leashinhand.com

We've worked with Bob Manning, www.Springcreekk9.net. He's located in Hockley, but he came to us in Spring (about 45 minutes) for private lessons. He's incredibly awesome, I can't say enough about him.
Dog Trainers in Town Hello!
I’m trying to train my dog to be non-reactive to other dogs (like just sniffing them and diverting attention) and to stay at my side more...

The Aggie Guide Dogs and Service Dogs organization would be a good place to look if you’d like to learn the ins and outs of training a service dog and you are a student. Hands on practice with their puppies and you can bring your dog to outings for practice biweekly.

I wish I had advice but good luck!!!! I have a friend who tried to self train a service dog but she had to wash him after a dude in a wheelchair bodily ran over the doggo :(
