Barber recommendations It's been over a year since I got an actual hair cut done by someone that doesn't live with me and I want to get something somewhat nice. What...

I would recommend Payne White([his Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/payne_white/)), in Grandview fyi. Been with him a couple years. Real chill, pricier than my last place but getting a cut and shampoo is totally worth it. Also, mad props for hair education at end of haircut. Appreciate knowing more of what I can do and the science behind the way hair "falls."

Either of the Moses shops or either of the Turner’s shops. Top notch haircuts at either, just depends on what kind of atmosphere/vibe you wanna have while getting it done.

Honestly, I don’t think you can do better than Holy Moses https://www.holymoseshair.com in Grandview. They also have a shop called “Moses” on south high. They’re great with traditional-yet-fashionable men’s cuts. And they’re generous with their money, helping to fund some great charitable causes.
cmh_ender replied:
I really like Blue Star Barber shop. never had a bad cut from them, just make sure you get one of their barbers and not an aesthetician.

Clintonville Barbershop on Indianola just north of Weber. Definitely old school but in a positive way. Walk In only. Gary is among the best... does both Hair and Beards. For the cut, both wear masks, for the Beard he'll wear a face shield. $15 bucks for cut and additional $5 for the Beard trim/shave. http://www.clintonvillebarbershop.com/

Goodfellow's in German Village is fantastic, I've been going to Chris Roberts for years now and I'll never change. He remembers everything about what I like, and is very well priced. He worked with me to get my hair under control at the beginning as well. They have a very relaxed atmosphere, kind of "alt" style as well if that's your thing. They also sell alcohol by the bottle, and have a bar when it's not COVID times happening.
bk_003 replied:
Surprised no one has mentioned mug & brush yet. One of their locations (OG) is on high just north of campus.

Holy Moses in Grandview.

Holy Moses in Grandview or Moses Barber & Groom in Brewery District, depending on which location works for your schedule because they're virtually the same shop, are the best barbers in the area.
34TE replied:
Most barbershops aren't doing beard trims or shaves right now because you'd have to remove your mask for that, FYI. Old Familiar in OTE is my favorite barbershop in town. Great guys, great atmosphere, great cuts.
ousenior replied:
Classics on 5 th in Grandview. Haircuts, beard trims. You’ll be looking good whenever you leave. Easily online booking too.
I need help finding a good barber! I'm visiting family in Columbus this weekend and I need to find a really good barbershop. I don't really know where else to post this,...

Old Familiar on Parsons near Broad. Old school vibe, I don't go too often because my regular place is closer and cheaper, but when I want more of an experience I hit them up.

There are plenty of Great Clips around the city. You know they are better than good because great is in their name.

Nick at Teck's barbershop on 13 th Ave is great. Very reasonable pricing, cash only though.
AnalWhisperer replied:
Rendevous isn't a barbershop but they can do some pretty slick men's cuts. Plus haircuts are half off on Thursdays.
Eugene_C replied:
What kind of hair work do you need? Some places do a good flat top, while others are better with styling.

I don't know which part of town you're in but Longview in Clintonville is fantastic. They have a wonderful group of barbers.

It might not strike you as men's, but I just moved here a few months ago and started going to [Lucky 13 Salon](http://www.lucky13 salon.com). Cuts are $23, every 13 th is free and I haven't had a bad haircut yet. I get my cut from Jan, I can personally vouch for her. I don't know much about the rest of them but I've never heard of anyone getting a bad cut at Lucky 13.
mula_bocf replied:
You're not going to find any barber shop in Columbus charging that much. The closest to that vibe that you'll get are Turners on High, Old Familiar on Parsons or Niko's on 3rd.
That being said, the best shop in town in my mind is actually Grove City Barbers in Grove City. The Turner of Turner's actually goes to Justin at Grove City.
Check them out on instagram to see some of the work Justin does. He's talented. He and Lafe are both really good guys that put a lot of pride into their work. You won't get the hipster vibe from their shop but you'll get an awesome cut, shave and service at a very reasonable price.
No, I do not work for them. I've just been a loyal customer of Lafe's for the last 5 or 6 years now. I followed him from Westerville to Grove City when he and Justin opened their own shop.
Jawkesh replied:

Old Familiar Barbershop is absolutely fantastic. I think they have the atmosphere you're looking for and they are very skilled. They also have probably the best shoeshine guy in the city. He's quirky but he can make beat up old crappy shoes look like a million dollars.

Nini's on Henderson. Across the street from the Shell station. $15 bucks for a cut with the option to get the back of your neck shaved. Four barbers all with over 10+ years experience. Call ahead so they out your name on the list. I live in Cincy and travel up to Cbus every once and a while and still get my hair cut there.
