Veterinarian Recommendations I would like to change veterinarians (for 2 cats) after some unpleasant experiences with our current vet. A colleague recommended All...

All creatures great and small, and west hills are both great clinics!

All Creatures Great and Small was recommended to me too. A friend who went to OSU vet school took her dogs there when she was a student. We've been very happy with them. They've been very helpful to us with our dog. One thing, they do have a couple of clinic cats that hang around the reception desk, just to note that in case your cats have problems with other cats.

Highly recommend All Creatures Great and Small and West Hills are great clinics in Corvallis. I've used Rogers Vet Service out of Philomath recently, and have nothing but good things to say about them. I could not recommend Willamette Veterinary Hospital for anything other than an emergency.

Ark Animal Hospital in Philomath is great

Dr. Hixson at Alpine Animal Hospital has been seeing my cat for years and it’s been a great experience!

Thanks folks.

I use Alpine and am so happy with them. They are so gentle with my dogs and do everything they can to make the visit as low stress as possible. They are also affordable and don't try to up sell you on everything. I used to go to Ark several years ago. They were very nice too but about double the price of Alpine. And it was always awkward as they tried to sell me on their brand of food, or on prepaid preventive care packages. It felt like their eye was on making a profit.

Corvallis Cat Care is a really nice little place. They have a sweet little garden outside for cats to play in. It makes vet visits less stressful when my little bud gets to watch the birds through the window.
Does anyone know a veterinary genius in the greater Corvallis/Albany area? Looks like MJ just tore her doggie ACL and might need surgery. Wondering if anyone has a vet...

Oh poor MJ! Niko got surgery last year and recovered amazingly! We still make the drive to see Dr Fletcher in Albany Animal Hospital! Give her hugs!
Joe A. replied:
I use Rivers Edge in Albany. But, West Hills in Corvallis is probably the best in the area and you pay for it.
Melody P. replied:
Dan Lewer is at Willamette Vet clinic in corvallis. He's AWESOME. We take our dogs to see him. He was a grad student@HMSC. He's the BEST.
Jeremiah O. replied:
Yes, like Joy, we really dig Albany Animal Hospital's Ken Fletcher.

Does anybody know a good affordable place in town or around to take a cat to a vet for a check up? :) Thanks!

I used to take my dogs to Alpine Animal Hospital. The vet was extremely rude... he told me on two different occasions that my rescue pit/lab mix was a "brat". He has severe anxiety, issues with men, and hates the car (all things that the vet was well aware of). He also refused to listen to me that my shih-tzu hates people touching his beard. My shih-tzu refused to allow him to grab his beard (no biting or anything, he just pulls his face away from you) and the vet told me that my dog was badly behaved. The vet also told me that I was being an irresponsible owner because my dog had ripped open a chunk of his back (turns out he was allergic to fleas and his flea meds had stopped working) I scheduled an appointment the day after he ripped his back open. My sister is a dog groomer and has been working in Corvallis for 8+ years, she constantly hears stories from her clients about horrible things that happened at Alpine. Go to All Creatures Great and Small, they're great people and great doctors. I'm definitely willing to spend a little more money if I know that my animals will be treated well.

I go to Corvallis Cat Care. You're going to get cheaper rates outside of town; I've heard of some good places in Albany if you're willing to drive out that far.
