Does anyone have a pediatric allergist they can recommend? My little guy has been suffering this season. Claritin did nothing, the pediatrician had him on Rx Flonase but...

Dr Backman or Dr Vexler in Monroe. Allergy and Asthma care of Fairfield County.
Sue V. replied:
Dr. Richard Lee is the absolute best. See link above.
Jessica B. replied:
All the doctors at Advanced Allergy Care are great. I was in your situation a few years ago. The doctors here got us through it. My youngest has been doing desensitization which is also working.
Adrienne K. replied:
my youngest goes to Dr. Bell also, for food allergies, he is great.
Sheri L. replied:
We see Dr. Lee. I like him more than Dr. Shah. Shah wanted us to make some very drastic changes in our house whereas Dr. Lee is much more realistic.
Heather C. replied:
Another vote for Dr. Shah
Melanie R. replied:
Another Dr Backman in Monroe
Dawn N. replied:
Dr Bell - ascdocs.com (Advanced Specialty Care-Allergy and Asthma) great with both kids and adults and seems like a problem-solver, asks a lot of questions and really listens to understand.
Jessica B. replied:
Dr Lee is one we see from ASC Allergy Asthma. I have a SIL who is also one of the RN's there.
Becky F. replied:
I asked about this on another site and this guy said that he used to do the allergy injections, tried different allergy meds and nose sprays but nothing worked for him except for this bottle which he found out about from a stranger who told him about it. I was just at Chamomile's today in Danbury and they said they can't keep it on the shelves, so I have him holding 2 bottles for me. My son did allergy injections before, and they really worked! However we didn't continue after going for 3 to 4 consecutive years and his allergies are bad again. He was good last year and the year before, but this year is just crazy because of the extreme weather change. We used to see Dr Bell. He's a great doctor. I am having my daughter see Dr Shah soon though. Heard good things about her. And yes, everyone says local honey works, so I'll be trying that too with my kids.
Jillian C. replied:
I take my daughter to Dr. Dave at Advanced Allergy & Asthma Care in Danbury. However, the most effective thing we've found is to try to limit her exposure as much as possible. She stays indoors for recess and gym, and as soon as she gets home from school I have her shower and wash her hair. We keep the windows shut, and this week we've been running the AC. All of this is a pain, but it does help her and I figure it's only for 4 or 5 weeks each year. Good luck!

Booty used to use Dr.Britto also until he stopped showing up and we got his horrible assistant. I vote Pediatric Assoc. Because now he has Dr. Gropper who is awesome
Denise L. replied:
Like Tara said, Dr. Koepke...he's not an alarmist, he will spend a half hour just talking and explaining things to you, like there is no one else in the waiting room. He LISTENS to the Moms...I found other pediatricians didn't. Love him. Dr Biles in NF family practice is good too...Koepke is at 57 North Street.

I travel to Hamden via rte 34 to see Dr. Karen Brown. She and her partners are affiliated with Yale. It is worth the trip in my humble opinion.
Dawn K. replied:
Dr. Michael Taweh
Susan H. replied:
I see Dr. Leonardi at New Milford Medical Group for a PCP. Totally worth the drive, he's fantastic! I do also see one of their PA's, Dimitri, and he is amazing. But, if you do not want to see a PA, you can request to see any of the doctors in the group. I've heard they are all wonderful but speaking from experience I highly recommend Dr. Leonardi. He spends tons of time with me, is very thorough, and has a great bedside manner. He's a DO, not an MD, which I prefer.
Julie L. replied:
I like Dr. Aquavia in southbury. Very thorough.
Christine F. replied:
Very happy with Dr. Foye in Bethel as well. Plus they have their own after hours clinic at same rate as Dr's office visit if you need urgent care outside of office hours.
Kathy K. replied:
Dr Mascia or Dr Farrell in Brookfield. Receptionist will ask you if you want PA if they are booked- I just tell them no and am always able to get appointment with one of them.
Kristen B. replied:
Thanks everyone. I've heard good things about Dr. Holloway but the receptionists don't honor requests to see her. They actually seem annoyed. I've never even met her once.

Elizabeth D. replied:
Dr Machado at center for pediatrics
Cynthia S. replied:
Center for Pediatrics. I always see Dr. Goldenbach or the Nurse Practitioner Nicole. Love them! They are all great though and opened weekends and have on call doctors that get back to you within 5 minutes if your little one is having ant issues.
Jennifer E. replied:
Center for Pediatric Medicine. I love the nurse practitioners. All the dr's are good. The only one I'm not crazy about is Dr. Goenbach (not sure of spelling). I find him to be a little creepy. They have great hours and are friendly there.
MacKenzie M. replied:
We use center for pediatrics. Don't care for a couple of the docs dr. Glomebach (sp) is my least favorite and Dr. Kogkar is also not the greatest but the locations and hours work. Dr. Garcia and dr. Magner are wonderful and are very hands on with the girls.
Does anyone know the pediatric allergist Dr. Bell? He was recommended by my pediatrician. Looking for any feedback, thanks.
Maria A. replied:
We see Dr Lee at the same practice... He is super nice. We like him a lot. My oldest goes to him for allergy and asthma.
Deborah C. replied:
Dr Bell is very nice and capable...Dr Lee is wonderful and very funny. When Alex was little he really liked Dr Lee. We still go to that practice, but switched to a Dr in Ridgefield.
Maria A. replied:
I've never been to Dr. Bell... So it is totally up to you and your thoughts on switching. We really do like Dr. Lee though.
