No matter what you use for maintenance, you need to first kill the fleas on the dog. Capstar works almost immediately. The fleas on the dog will be dead in less than 24 hours, and then you can move onto prevention. https://www.chewy.com/capstar-flea-tablets-dogs-cats-2-25/dp/52930

The symptoms you describe sound like the kitty has a respiratory infection. Cats, especially kittens are susceptible to them especially if stressed. Vet care is necessary as they can quickly become dehydrated. Until then, keep the kitten well hydrated and fed. No sodium chicken broth can entice them into drinking and room temperature kitten food is good too. Like another person suggested, clean the nose gently with a washcloth moistened with warm water. Keep the kitty warm since they loose the ability to regulate their body temperature. If you have other kitties at home, keep them separate because they can contract the cold virus. Call Arni at Mason in Daytona and see if they can help. They do great stuff for animals. Finally, post a picture of the kitty in case it's someone's beloved, lost pet. Good luck and god bless you for your kindheartedness towards this furbaby that obviously needed your help.

Here is the FB page to the clinic above... if you haven't found their number yet there is a "call now" button on their page, they should be able to at least tell you if they will see it, what the cost, and if they can't maybe refer you to someone who can see it. If not, there is a FB group that is about mostly about cats... I'll post that page and will ask them ask them for info too. Here's the one with the call now link on it https://www.facebook.com/atlanticanimalhospitalportorange/
