I actually met my current trainer thru r/Atlanta about a year ago when I was looking for someone to help me build muscle and lose weight. She’s great. Lost 30 lbs of fat and gained 25 of muscle. Now at a place where I’m really happy! Let me see if I can find her username. Rates are reasonable as well. I’ve been taking classes at [FitWit in Old Fourth Ward] (https://www.fitwit.com) since January and I absolutely love it. I was concerned that it was a bit too intense at first given my (lack of) athleticism, but all of the trainers are super encouraging and supportive, as are the other members, and you can adjust and modify the daily workouts to suit your abilities. If you’d like to stop in for a class, let me know! They’re pretty open about occasionally bringing a friend along, and I’d be happy to show you around.

I go to PowerLady Fitness, which has a dumb name but great trainers and fun classes. It's not super hardcore but not easy/dumbed down either. It's all women if that makes you more comfortable. I'm ~50 lbs overweight and feel very comfortable there. Also a local business I'm happy to pay a little extra to support!

Insert obvious CrossFit joke here: Ok, now that that’s out of the way, if you’re anywhere near the Hapeville/College Park area, the trainers at CrossFit college park do a GREAT job with beginners and people of all abilities. I’ve seen them work with everyone from top end competitive athletes to old ladies in wheel chairs. Small classes and friendly people.

my suggestion is to NOT have a personal trainer show up to your place..instead, do what my wife and I did....get a PT, but go to his gym ..early in the AM...this keeps you on track...too bad you live too far otherwise I'd say Elite10 Fitness is the way to go...good luck Meg!
