Vets taking new appointments? Does anyone know about any vets in the Atlanta area who are good and taking appointments right now? Our normal vet is booked through...

Our vet is Common Companion, we've been able to get in a few times.

Main Street Vets in Downtown Stone Mountain is still taking new patients i believe. I was just there yesterday pickup some heartworm meds and I think I saw someone filling out paperwork. Dr Moorehead does traditional and holistic medicine if that is important to you.

We got a new puppy in July and set him up at Peachtree Hills Animal Hospital. They had openings within a week or so. We're moving our older dog there, too. They're super on top of their scheduling with email and text alerts as well as Zoom consultations the entire time you're there.

Acworth Animal Hospital. I called yesterday and have an appointment today.

We've gone to Fairview Animal Hospital literally my whole life. They're in Ellenwood but it's not a bad drive if you're on the east side. We take our cats there now and I know they're doing nom-emergencies. Dr. McKnight is great and we took my dogs to him growing up, but we take our cats to Dr. Morely (no real reason, Dr. McKnight was just booked one day and we've stuck with her ever since since the kitties know her now).

I use Dearborn and they always get me in pretty quickly.

Peachtree Creek Animal Hospital on Lindbergh near Cheshire is pretty new and might not be booked up. We’ve had a good experience there.

I've never had a problem getting in to see someone at Briarcliff Animal Hospital.

I've used [Evans Mill Animal Hospital](http://evansmillanimalhospital.com/) for years. I \*think\* they're taking new appointments, because the last two times I was there they had people filling out what appeared to be "new patient" paperwork. They're right on Covington Highway, a straight shot from Decatur.

Try Jones Bridge Animal Hospital, if you’re willing to go a little outside the perimeter! Been going to them for over 15 years and they’re great!
New to Oakhurst (& er, Georgia) with 2 elderly dogs due for dental surgery. Vet recommendations? Thanks!
Amy L. replied:
There is only one boarded veterinary dentist in the state - Dr. Brett Beckman. There is another Dr in Alpharetta who only does dentistry but the last time we checked, she wasn't boarded. Our animals see Dr. Beckman for dentistry. For all else, it is Village Vets.

I've been happy with [North Dekalb Vets](https://northdekalbvet.com/) on Lawrenceville Hwy. I switched there from Village Vets in Decatur because of price, not care. I have cats, not a dog, but I see lots of folks bringing dogs in when I'm there.

We've taken both of our dogs to Thrive Decatur, and found their rates to be very reasonable. The vet seems pretty good, though I've only ever talked to her on the phone because we moved here in February and they aren't letting people inside yet due to 'rona.
rachel_mary replied:
Thrive is the best, especially for checkups. I’ve been to the Midtown location, but they just opened inside the Petco in the Edgewood shopping center. I have cats, but they offered really affordable checkups, rabies shots, and parasite treatment.
