Wondering how often you all trim your goats hooves?
I have been doing ours once a month sense spring. Their hoof wall have been going like crazy and is tough as can...
Are y'all talking about these from Jeffers http://www.jefferspet.com/products/shear-magic-trimmer
Annabelle P. replied:
Once a month. Ars trimmer from valleyvet.com
Lisa C. replied:
On our farm it depends on the animal. Corrective work can be every 2 weeks. Our oldest girl does best with monthly trimming. Most doe fine with every two months. Favorite trimmers- by far- ARS. I can't coun't how many of the other models we've gone through. Just ordered our third pair of ARS trimmers. They're great and really helpful with arthritis. http://www.jefferspet.com/products/ars-hoof-trimmers

Anybody know any Wiregrass veterinarians that do more than minor surgeries besides the vet hospital on westgate parkway. Need to find someone little more affordable for...
Ashley B. replied:
Cottonwood Animal Clinic, Dr. Syfrett out on South Park or you could try the one in Hartford- not sure of the name
Terri A. replied:
Tonja Clayton Turvin yes he is our regular vet but he does not do this entailed of surgery.
Donald S. replied:
Dr Jones in Brundidge is really good. Not sure about that surgery.
Donald S. replied:
735-2315
Leah D. replied:
Terri Ellis Adams ya'll might want to check a few vets in Auburn too. Not much further from Montgomery. I've heard of the vet school doing odd surgeries like this (supervised of course) for cheap...just for the experience. Might be worth looking into.
Terri A. replied:
Shannon Wynne Hoppmann Jackson it was the animal hospital in Montgomery.
Kathy B. replied:
South Park Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Syfrett. The one in Cottonwood is good too. Dr. Syfrett did our dog's "fixing". Inexpensive and absolutelyno complications and inexpensive.
Lauri S. replied:
We always use South Park Vet., Dr Seyfrett. They are so considerate of the animal. Worth giving them a call. Praying for your pet!
Lori W. replied:
Dr Syfrett!!!
Debra M. replied:
We use Dr. Jeff Strickland. He has always done good work and he is very reasonable price wise. He had Briar Creek Vet.
Terri A. replied:
Denise Nichols is southeast the one on westgate? We have had him checked there but it is going to be close to $4 k and we can't afford that. Or is southeast somewhere else
Sara V. replied:
I wonder if Dr. Forrester does it at her clinic on Montgomery Hwy. she's in with Dr. Bain. I love them both.
Shea M. replied:
Dr Strickland in Cottonwood for sure! Love him and his mama who is the receptionist
Cindy M. replied:
Terri, We use Dr McCoy in Headland. He is great with our girls and is very reasonable
Terri A. replied:
Jeff Strickland is our regular vet and we love him but he has already checked Sam. He doesn't do this surgery bc it is so extensive. That's what we are running into with the small hometown vets. It's a double hernia on his bottom and its internal. So very few will do it bc of the chance of nicking or damaging the nerves that he uses to go to the bathroom. It is very risky from what we understand. We have a few leads though on some vets who will do this surgery like this and will look at him. So we are hopeful! Just hoping if we find someone surgery does work and helps him. Thanks for all the leads and help.
Patty S. replied:
Dr. Syfrett, South Park Vet!
Debra E. replied:
My three pound Yorkie just had double hernia surgery and was spayed all at the same time, plus had teeth cleaned. dr. Tucker at Ozark Vet is wonderful.
Debra E. replied:
If you have questions call me. 791-2015.
Juliette B. replied:
Dr Martin in headland very goid
Terri A. replied:
Rebecca Watts Miller we called one vet in ozark bc eveybody says he is great but they don't do major surgeries like this either. But I can't remember his name bc Daniel called him. If you think of the name let me know.
Kammy C. replied:
I think Southeast is on 231 across from Northside Walmart by Murphy Mill. We use Dothan Animal Hospital on South Oates by the Flowers Bakery Outlet and tire shop as our vet. Excellent bedside manner and compassion by all staff.
Rebecca M. replied:

Elizabeth B. replied:
Care Animal for sure! They cared for our beloved mini schnauzer for 13 years!

David B. replied:

I take my dog and cats to Wiregrass Veterinary Clinic in Malvern- worth the drive. I take my Guinea pig to Care with Dr. Martin, just as good but quite a bit more expensive.
Judith M. replied:
D. Brian Bain and Dr. Milissa Forrester at Southeast Vet on the Montgomery Hwy. near northside Walmart. Very caring and very good!
Cindy F. replied:
Love Care Animal. They have seen our pets for years. But to really confuse you- Dr. GARRETT at Dothan Animal hospital is great. Started using them with my retriever, because it was on my way too work. Your neighbors use CARE in case you want to know.
Carol C. replied:
Ozark Vet Clinic--hands down. Affordable too
Janet A. replied:
Dr. Garrett Dothan Animal Hospital..... THE best! And affordable as well

Phil H. replied:
we love our vet. Catawba Heights Animal Hospital. Dr. White laughs every time he re-meets Nash. And it just so happens that it would take an overnight trip, with stay at our place, each time you needed to make an appointment. that would be great!!
Jonie N. replied:
We used Ozark Vet for 13 years & we were very happy with them. We started using Care Animal on hwy 84 & we like them, but they are expensive. We are planning on switching back to Ozark even if it is a longer drive.
