Service at your local Community Health Centre are always free of charge. Most CHC's have Dieticians on staff who would be happy to work with you. Their are 6 CHC's in various areas of Ottawa so depending on where you live you would receive services closest to your neighbourhood. Let me know what area of Ottawa you are in and I can guide you to the right CHC.

Two of my nephews have severe allergies. I don't know about a nutritionist but i use this site when making food for them http://www.kidswithfoodallergies.org/free_food_allergy_recipes.html

I would highly suggest seeing a naturopath dr. They will be able to help you out the best. This is a really hard situation. I am not sure where you are located but I hear wonderful things about Seth Yates in Stittsville. I hope you get the answers you need soon. Hang in there

That is tough. I have a son with multiple allergies and it is hard some times to make sure they are getting all the nutrients they need etc. Have you tried contacting Eat Right Ontario? They were very helpful to me as a starting point and recommended substitutes etc. While you find a fantastic person to better address your needs, this may be a good starting point, and it's free. http://www.eatrightontario.ca/en/Children.aspx

As Rosemary Jones said anyone can call themselves a nutritionist. Here's a great way to find a Registered Dietician - http://www.dietitians.ca/Find-A-Dietitian.aspx

I was hoping you were not in the far easy or west of the City:( unfortunately there is no CHC in Orleans. If you are unable to find a Dietician for no cost call Somerset West Community Health Centre613-238-1220 ask for Bonnie B, sHe may be able to give you some assistance or put you onto someone who can. Good Luck!

Shelagh Gravelle we did the blood test for the peanut allergy and it was not covered by Ohio so it cost 25 bucks. It is worth it to know. He did not outgrow them all he still has 5. He will not eat any prepackaged foods unless he calls me to reads the label to me. We have never...knock wood ....had to use an epi pen .
