Can anyone recommend a local exterminator that can help with a bat in the house? It flew into the bedroom, I chased it out and have been unable to locate it again. No...

Thanks for the tag, Julie Anne!:-) We dealt with a few bats in our house in December, and the PA State Game Commission was incredibly helpful. We closed it up in a room and they sent an officer out to catch it and take it to be tested for rabies. Bats are protected (and they do lots of good things for the environment) but they also want to protect humans, especially when bats are found in living spaces. We contacted the SE Regional Office in Reading at 610-926-3136 and everyone was very helpful. http://www.pgc.pa.gov/InformationResources/AboutUs/ContactInformation/Pages/default.aspx

Also, bat colonies (if you have one) can only be removed from homes at particular times of the year. Not sure if now is the season when they can be, but this guy helped friends of ours and came to our place to do an inspection. I would call New England Pest Control . . . but then, that won't help your situation much . . .
