CASA helped me when I was younger they might still be around.

Casa (child and adolescents association) has therapists, psychiatrists etc. It's free, too. There's 2 locations I believe. If it's more severe, they have a half therapy/half school program called adp (adolescent day program). I went when I was young and it really helped me. The mornings were dedicated to group and solo therapy, and the afternoon was core school subjects. It's a small group so there's a waiting list, but if your kid is struggling and needs more than a therapy visit a few times a month, it can really help. https://www.casaservices.org The glenrose also has child's mental health facilities, but I believe you need a referral from a doctor.

My best suggestion is to go to family GP and get a referral to adolescent psychology and/or psychiatric. Misericordia hospital has a adolescent psychology and psychiatry that deals directly with the family clinic attached to the hospital. I can’t tell you enough that the Mis is absolutely the finest care for adolescent mental health.

Leslie Pearson at Evolution Psychology in Sherwood Park is phenomenal, and she has a fantastic play therapy room and a very sweet therapy dog named Carl. We have had great experiences with her.

https://www.albertahealthservices.ca/rf-z4-rcmh-intake-supp.pdf This is the information for the general intake for child mental health services. Based on your child’s needs they will direct you to most appropriate services. Northgate centre also offers walk ins and will direct you. Rutherford Health Centre is also another great source too! Hope you find the help you are looking for, I know the system be hard to navigate

Not sure how old your child is, but Occupational Therapists are very skilled with Sensory Processing Disorder. If your child is 2.5 to 5.5 years, programming can be accessed through the catholic schools and publics schools. The programs are Program Unit Funded through Alberta Learning.
Kathy S. replied:
Usually occupational therapists do the sensory assessment and provide the treatment. Sensory Processing Disorder is not diagnosable through DSM by a psychologist. There is occupational therapy through the royal alex. You can even go to Capital Health Services and as for an OT assessment. If you cannot you can get your family doctor to refer you.
