Dawn T. replied:
Pet emergency & Specialty Center in La Mesa and in Chula Vista are the same Hospital their exam fee is $72 it sounds like she will probably need blood work and x-rays it is expensive but you need to know what's going on with your dog El Cajon Valley Vet is also good they're walk-ins only. Anywhere you go she's going to need diagnostic work to figure out what's going on with her could be vestibular disease but it needs a veterinarian to diagnose her

600 Broadway, El Cajon, CA 92021 · (619) 493-2439, VCA Animal Medical Center is a veterinary hospital open 24 hours. Very reasonable compared to some of the "emergency vets" that run up the bill. Last time I was there they charged an extra $40 if you come after 7 pm. Call them and see what they say. Full service hospital with actual veterinarians there 24 hours a day.
Are there any vets open tomorrow that won't charge me an arm and a leg? My cat came in the other day with a nasty eye (no fight or struggle) I thought maybe a bug in...
Harlee C. replied:
San diego pet hospital in Lemon grove, exam is under $50, doctors wont charge for unneccesary charges/medication. San Diego Pet Hospital619-462-6600, they have same day appointments, but you have to call RIGHT when they open at 8
Brenda H. replied:
Bay Animal Hospital down on Sports Arena are open 7 days a week, very caring and not very expensive. You can call as soon as they open and usually have appointments that same day. Good luck hope your baby is ok
Allie R. replied:
VCA animal medical center on Broadway $43.25 for an exam and walk-ins are accepted anytime between 8 am-4 pm tomorrow and if you have never been there before they offer a free first exam coupon on their website that covers the exam fee just not any meds or treatment - you'd still have to pay that. Call tomorrow as early as 7 am there will be someone who can help you - (619) 444-4246. As far as going in - the earlier the better cuz weekends can get busy.

If it is really bad, you can go to AMC (Animal Medical Center) on Broadway in El Cajon. They are opened 24 hrs. It is a bit pricey after hours, but sometimes worth it. For routine hours check out El Cajon Valley Veterinary Hospital on Johnson Ave. They are the ones we use for all of our vet visits that are not after-hour emergencies. Judys vet wrongly diagnosed my dogs tumer as a fat pocket, twice. I took her to care and comfort and they gave us a correct diagnoses and helped us with decision making. Called a checked up on her after surgery. When she passed they sent cards and gave us a lock of her fur. Great at their jobs and great with their customers.

ECLAP (East County Large Animal Practice) In Blossom Valley. They are super down to earth (& take care of small animals as well) Dr.Oman is AMAZING! although all the vets there are great. Dr.Oman even has a chocolate lab that comes to work with him & is so sweet & hangs out around the office/barn outside.
Tamara D. replied:
Whatever you do DON'T go to El Cajon Valley Veterinary Hospital. They won't listen to you, and the office manager is extremely rude. They overdosed my mom's cat twice because they refused to read the note stating the prescription was changed. When I explained I left a note they flat out said they don't take those and only go by the prescription label. They don't care about anything we say despite seeing our pets daily. Save yourself the trouble. I now go to VCA. I recommend them!

Yes Katie Rose, Dr. May is still practicing. He's been my vet for 16 years. He's awesome! He reminds me of an old country vet, who is up on the latest techniques. He knows a lot of old tricks to use when a patient isn't so cooperative. I have also used Dr. Martin & Dr. Elston at LAVA when I can't get Dr. May & it's something that can't wait.
