Thank you so much Katie for posting this I will be watching this post I'm in need of a good veterinarian also I was just getting ready to go to Elgin Animal Clinic with my dog Buster at 3:30 today and I cancelled the appointment because of this post but I am looking for someone I can trust to take him to.

My dog finished her heartworm treatments back in the Fall. Altogether, it cost $1,000 at Cleveland Clinic on McLean (they gave me a few discounts in there). I liked that they gave me a cost estimate on everything before we started. Louise had 3 heartworm tests to confirm before we started treatment: 1 positive, 2 negative, 3 positive. Call ahead wherever you go for a price estimate. I can explain the treatment cycle on a dog if you want.

I highly recommend Cleveland Veterinary Clinic. It's in South Elgin, has 4.9 out of 5 stars, they have great prices, open hours that can help fit your schedule and they're very flexible.

I see Dr. Williams at Cleveland! I will only use her when I go there! We have a large breed dog and a small breed dog and the vet techs and the doc are amazing

I take my pitbull to Huntley vet! They are great with him and we've never had issues.

Everyone has different opinions. May have to do with trial and error. I love Banfield in South Elgin. And only have had bad experiences with Animal Clinic of SE.

We pulled our 2 cats from BANFIELD in Hoffman . We use Dundee Animal Hosp in east Dundee. Very happy but probably more expensive but worth it to us. Same happened at BANFIELD always wanted to sedate my male cat but Dundee handles him beautifully.

Dundee Animal Hospital Dr Jeremy Larson is wonderful well the whole staff is he is very familiar with the bully breed he has treated mine for years...they are a bit pricey but the care and concern for your animals is amazing

Dundee Animal Hospital. They have several locations

They may not tolerate the cage there, even if they may be crate trained at home. And if they are cage shy there the staff may be afraid to take them out. Afer 7.5 hours in a box I would be irritated as well. I am a groomer and owner of www.DoggyHasIt.com and do cage free grooming. However I kicked my back out 3 weeks ago and can't help you right now with strong bigger dogs. Maybe next time around. I have a Lab/Shar Pei that comes to me all the way from Addison for grooming because the vet insists to put her under just for the nails. I think that is pretty crazy. I get her nails dremmeled without any tranquilizer.

We took our adopted dog to Westside Animal Hospital on Weatherstone Lane. I think it was about $70

You should receive a free vet exam included in your adoption. Call the shelter. Or call around. Most vet will give a free exam to. Ew clients or new adoptees. Randall Road Animal Hospital does I think.

Elgin Clinic on the corner of Chicago and Summit or Barrington Square Animal Hospital on Higgins.
