Does anyone know of a good vet who will take payments? My dog needs surgery
Grayce E. replied:
I love Linda Wallace at Sunset Animal Hospital. She and Dr. Arbios are the best. However I don't know about payment plans. Prayers for your dog

As Karen Barcellos Potter said, I have been with Willow Rock in Rocklin for many years. There is no better Vet. than Dr. Carstens, he is caring for my third Golden now. Check YELP, Willow Rock Pet Hospital, Rocklin! They provide the very best care and they will not over charge, in fact they may surprise you with cost compared to other vets. I'm sure he would work with you.

San Juan Vet Hospital on San Juan near Greenback. Very professional, caring, compassionate and do not over charge. (916) 961-0744 But I'm unsure of the type of surgery you need. I hope it's general and not a speciality field Best wishes ♡
Noreen O. replied:
ask your Vet about Care Credit, they should have an application. I keep the card just for these kinds of things. You may be able to apply online.
Justin N. replied:
Lots of vets use Care Credit. Easy to apply for.

Unbelievable care and cost! Dr. Carstens is so great with the pups.

Cathy A. replied:
I had a fear aggressive lab and had her evaluated by Cindy at The Right Steps. I'd highly recommend your friend get an evaluation done by her. She's really great! http://www.therightsteps.com/

Blair Diamond--of Primal Needs Behavior Solutions--ask Jodi about him. He is currently board and training our dog/people aggressive border collie.

http://www.rruff.com/resources_rott_rescue_links.html there is this rescue in LA that I know of. I'm sure there are other Breed specific rescues
Staci S. replied:
I'd highly recommend she contact Lisa Mullinax http://www.sacramentodogbehavior.com/ Lisa specializes in aggression and is leveraged by many of Sacramento's rescue groups. I personally hired her for a similiar issue with a past pup and she was amazing. I took the dog everywhere, including UCDavis and Lisa was by far the most knowledgable, compassionate and successful.
Jamie H. replied:
I back Lisa Mullinax CPDT-KA and KSA also, she's an INDEPENDENTLY certifed Dog trainer with Knowledge assessed and Skills assessed Certification (if you'd like to know the difference, I can explain), Val Masters with SSPCA is also a CPDT-KA and a CDBC, certified dog behavior consultant. I send aggressive cases to them ALL the time.
Hi neighbors! I need a recommendation for a vet. I've been going to the one on Sunset, I know they are good but they are always busy. Thanks!
Crystal B. replied:
Mercy Pet Hospital opens in Fair Oaks on Mad and Hazel on 16 th. First come first serve technically but you can check in on your phone (on their app)from home so you won't be waiting in the lobby as much;)
Emily V. replied:
Olde Towne is where I go, where I take all my critters. People have left Sunset AMC for good reasons.
David T. replied:
San Juan Vet Hospital, Dr Larry Buntrock has been taking great and compassionate care of our dogs since 1976.
Jennifer H. replied:
Blue Cross Pet Hospital on Fair Oaks Blvd. near Manzanita. Fair prices and top notch care. Really good at explaining options.
Chrissy P. replied:
I like the VCAon Manzanita, especially Dr. Mick
Karen S. replied:
VCA American River Animal Hospital on Main and Greenback. Dr. Faulkner is my all time favorite vet. Such compasion. She helped me and my baby Bella during her heart issue to the end and even came to my home when it was time to do what had to be done. I will never forget their kindness as a whole. Been using them since 1991, now five dogs. My neighbors use them too.
Carla M. replied:

I don't want to start a debate with anyone, but I am trying to find a veterinarian in our area who absolutely will not declaw cats. I want to find one because I feel...
Lilly J. replied:
American River animal hospital. I don't think they would ever recommend that. If u want to do that to kitties, you should not have cats
Kathy M. replied:
Hazel Ridge is wonderful. We love Dr. Harrod and all the rest of the vets there.
Becky B. replied:
I use Dr Reiser at Hazel Ridge (she cried along with me two years ago when my Maine Coon was put to sleep after a three year battle with diabetes...they love your animals as much as you do), but I agree, they are all great.
Victoria S. replied:
I'm a pet sitter here in town Dr. Putty's been the best. He is very concerned about your pets. When one of my dogs passed away not long ago, he sent me the most nicest card ever. I've been to many vets in Sacramento and he's like the best.
Debbie L. replied:
I highly recommend Dr. Putty. He has taken care of my cats and rabbits over the years. His asst, Jason, is great too!! Debbie Klenzman Carlson .. my daughter is a pet sitter (college student) too. Let me know if you're still looking.
Amy P. replied:
Dr Jyl Rubin-Orangevale916.989-0738 She's AWESOME!
Debbie C. replied:
I FOUND ONE!!! Dr. Rebecca Harrod of Hazel Ridge Vet on Hazel Ave. absolutely will not declaw a cat. She is my new vet. Yeah! FYI- other vets at this clinic do declaw. Dr. Jyl, Rubin and Dr Putty of Oaks Village do declaw and actually advertise it on their website. If you feel like I do, please talk to your vet about ceasing this horrible surgery. They don't just pull the claw out, they actually cut off the end of the paw at the last knuckle. Declawed cats often end up in shelters or euthanized because of behavior problems. Thank you everyone for you help. Now I have a new vet and a new pet sitter! I love Fair Oaks!
Becky B. replied:
Debbie...I'm truly happy you settled on Hazel Ridge...they definitely are my Vet for life. It's funny that with Dr Harrod's first name the same as mine, I've been in the office when one of the staff is talking to her and I answer (she uses Becky as well), or when my Vet Dr Kristin Reiser is talking to me and Dr Harrod answers. They all are a fantastic group.
I have to say something about our wonderful veterinarians at Hazel Ridge Veterinary Clinic on Hazel Ave in Fair Oaks. They have taken wonderful care of all of our cats,...
