If you were just looking for the standard vaccinations, crossroads animal hospital Dr. Sullivan has a pet clinic from 1 to 3 on Saturdays were you don't get charged office visit. You just get charged for the actual shot.his office is located right next door to big lots and I've been a very happy customer.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Dr. Jyl! She's amazing. Absolutely the best, most caring and empathetic vet I've ever had. She is experienced with typical animals as well as exotics and farm animals, and she is mobile if needed.

I liked Dr Jyl..prices were too high, especially for meds,,, didn't care for her other vet at all.. glad I found Dr Putty...very very reasonable and nicest man ever..office staff amazing too!

Dr Jyl is also at Orangevale Veterinary Clinic. The whole staff is awesome. They saved my Jack Russell's life too many times to count.

Dr Sullivan at Crossroads is the one I will always judge other vets by. Been bringing my pets to him for many years.

I use American River VCA on Greenback Dr Hermans is the best. I have seen other vets there that were test and pill happy but Dr. Hermans was way more practical

Dr Jean Metzler Orangevale Vet 916 987-2055. Been a client since 1997. HOWEVER, big however, they aren't into clicker training so if this is a dog that needs special handling I do not recommend them. They do not manhandle but are old school with training etc. As far as vet knowledge, I haven't found anyone better. I go back with my dogs and help with blood draws and xrays

Mueller Vet Hospital and Sacramento Animal Hospital both have good reputations but, of course, it depends on which vet you see there. In RC, the VCA Sacramento Veterinary Referral Center is phenomenal, but only do specialty and emergency. Cordova Veterinary is a nice, new hospital, but the staff seemed light on behavior/handling knowledge and heavy on social marketing. Multiple emails and phone calls after a routine appointment. I don't have a regular vet right now, since mine moved to Oregon, so I'm still looking, myself.

Ive gone to Dr. P for 20+ years. He also helps the rescue.
