Anybody have a rec for a good eye doctor? Need to recheck and update my prescription. When I asked my last one questions he just laughed and told me I was getting old....

Dr. Richard Snively is in Vienna maybe 10 minutes from your office. I've known him forever, he's attentive, listens to concern and he's not hard on the eyes!
Pamela L. replied:
Erin McCabe works with Dr. Essepian
Deborah D. replied:
I'm very happy with vision works Dr Bose at the mall. She quickly diagnosed my husbands cataracts....he wasn't very old!
Susan C. replied:
Dr. Manguikian over at Fairfax Square. Gone to him for years. He just did my cataract surgery and my mom's cataract surgeries in January. Excellent work. Very personable and caring. We take our glasses prescriptions to Costco.
Deborah D. replied:
I will tell you who not to go to...My Eye DR in Vienna....not unless you want your simple glasses to be over $600
Sandy T. replied:
I tried COSTCO once for glasses. They don't have top of the line optics and they don't carry the better line of progressive. I have heard good things about COSTCO glasses so that's why I tried it. If you have a simple Rx and correctible vision, COSTCO is probably a great option. I agree with Deborah Donohue's comments about My Eye DR in Vienna - I tried there too. I have tried about 10 different shops over the years and I am very pleased with my eye exam and new glasses which I wrote about above.

If you have a trailer, I recommend going to UPENN New Bolton Hospital. Their Optho wing does nothing but eyes, all day, every day. You can even call them and tell them what's going on and they'll talk to you on phone (no charge). It's not that far, and very reasonably priced. When I have any doubt, I just pack up and go as it ultimately saves $ by catching things early and getting treatment.
