Oral Alpan is actually an immunologist who also treats allergies. IMHO that's more overall approach for a complicated patient. http://oandoalpan.com/ He used to have privileges at Fairfax, but I think he gave them up. He has his own flow cytometry lab in house. He's been on the Newborn Screening Advisory Committee for the state of VA with me. Derm: Robert Silverman, if you can wait long enough for an appointment, assuming he's taking new patients. He's hard to get in with unless you get a referral. Robert A Silverman MD 8316 Arlington Blvd Ste 524, Fairfax, Virginia 22031

Tree pollen allergies starting up ? It's always hard for me to tell because my kid is constantly bringing colds home from daycare but all of a sudden I feel exhausted...
FuzzieDunlop replied:
I've started to feel it but it is hardly in full swing for me. Over the past few years, the first week of April is when it really picks up. We've had a cooler March this year. In years past, I've noticed that the warmer it is in March, the earlier (and more intensely) the tree pollen arrives. Based on this, I'm preparing for the full onslaught to begin in about two weeks.

Feels like it. I went hiking yesterday and came home thinking I was getting a cold, but now realize its allergies. Northern Virginia Allergy and Asthma at Seven Corners is great. Probably too far for you, though.

I'm feeling it today too. CWG just posted on FB: >Pollen update: Tree counts are HIGH at 114.06 grains/per cubic meter. Types: cedar/cypress/juniper/elm/maple/alder/pine

It started last week when the weather broke. The very first day that it's above 60 degrees I start. Mysteriously, once the actual blooms come out, I'm okay, but now, when the trees are barren and there's no visible pollen, I'm a mess. Then, when everyone else gets allergies, I'm okay. Tree pollens are a weird thing.
Yeah. It's starting. http://pollen.aaaai.org/nab/index.cfm?p=AllergenCalendar&stationid=60 Herndon is slightly outside of your Chantilly/Fairfax area, but I went to this place my whole childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood. They're good. http://asthmaallergydoc.com/
