Thanks for the tips! Pembroke Bakery is the only one that seems close to what I was thinking. I'll have to stop by. Much appreciated!

Hit the farmers market on Barr street, I don't have the name of the bakery, but they're on the south side of the street, big red truck. There's a big bread display on the side, but it goes quickly.

Richards Bakery... in the Wells Corridor.

The German lady. She's at South Side Farmer's Market on Saturday and I think the West Main on Friday. At South Side she's straight back in the back and on the right hand side, past the meat counter next to the guy selling greens out of coolers on the right. Also Pembroke Bakery is good too (the cafe is in Artlink, but baked goods at South Side and Barr St markets), but the German lady is really good.

The Mill is a good one, I've been there many times. Nice, fresh, handmade stuff on their shelves.
I need a good bakery in Fort Wayne people, but I want a bakery like we have in England, ya know, one that actually has baked goods, not just doughnuts and bagels

Richards is good, I can't argue. But the Pembroke Bakery & Cafe is downtown, across from the Civic Theater (aka Arts United Ctr) on Main Street. They're FABULOUS!!!
