Mommy Question: Hi! Does anyone know of an OBGYN in Fort Worth that fully supports natural childbirth? Including welcoming doulas, delayed cord clamping, and supportive...

I delivered with Jonathan Snead in north Fort Worth. That may be too long of a drive for you but he is amazing! He is good with doulas and natural birth. The hospital in north Fort Worth has rooms with tubs for labor ing in the water. Not sure about water birth since I wasn't interested in that. Not sure about the delayed clamping either. He is incredibly supportive and kind though!

I use Dr Walters with Woman's Integrated Healthcare. She is fantastic! I didn't do all that but she was for anything. Anyone in the room, put my hands under babies arms and helped me lift baby out onto me.

Dr motley or Cynthia English amazing and very respectful of what you want

I went with Emily Germash LM Cpm in Peaster, but also looked at the UNT nurse midwives. My husband was opposed to out of hospital births before we talked to Molly Germash. I think, if it really means a lot to you, meet with a midwife to talk about out of hospital birth. At least then he will have all of his information. If he still is against it, UNT nurse midwives or Carla in Cleburne do hospital delivies.

Dr. Pattyann Hardt at 8 th ave obgyn. I had a natural water birth at Harris hospital w/her. She'll do whatever makes mama feel right

They have midwives at a hospital in Ft Worth. Harris I believe. I had Molly Germash and Kim Watkins in Peaster. Molly has a birthing center there. Kim does housecalls and has her own practice now. I have never been more pampered in my life. I had the best care ever!
Emily H. replied:
Would your husband be okay with a midwife if you could still deliver in the hospital? If so, I HIGHLY recommend the UNT Health group of midwives. They deliver at Harris hospital in downtown, and they are all incredible. It was the best of both worlds for me! http://www.nurse-midwife.com/

The UNT Midwives are incredible! And you may consider having your husband at least MEET with a midwife and consider what you are wanting and needing for YOUR birth. I do agree that his support is of great priority but if you're not most comfortable with the way an OB/GYN works and the midwifery model fits you best then that should be his greatest concern. A supportive provider and supportive husband are key for achieving the birth experience you desire.

Dr Jennifer Motley is amazing! I delivered my son with her at Baylor and 100% on board with Doulas and natural as well as nursing staff at Baylor. She has recently moved to Harris Southwest so I'm not sure about their staff but she is completely on board with that.
Emily H. replied:
Dr Massengill (I know, I know) is the OB with the midwife practice, I believe. There may be more than one though.
Help! I need some referrals to a good midwife. I tried UNT, was not happy with the level of professionalism. I want to deliver at a hospital with a midwife.
Anyone...

I just call the UNT Midwives at Alliance office and they are way better than the Montgomery location. The lady even said, most patients complain about that particular office location. The front desk is horrible, they forgot I was there after I checked in. So please everyone say a prayer than the meet and greet goes good tomorrow with the Alliance location. I'm excited to actually meet with a real midwife.
If anyone needs an AMAZING midwife in the DFW area you need to contact Katie Grennan Perez she is now taking clients under supervision of the equally amazing Kim Watkins...
