Whole foods is good. If you have one. Other than that I would l invest in a cookbook that specializes in your Son's allergies, amazon.com, and food shop on the web.
Kids F. replied:
Other places online are navanfoods.com and allergyfreeshop.com. Also if you shop for plain ingredients and cook from scratch, you can get a lot locally. But if you want convenience type foods, then you may have to order online if not available locally.

We order a lot of food from amazon.com. They have a pretty good selection of allergy free food. We also use allergygrocer.com

Www.indiecandy.comAwesome company!! You could use enjoy life chocolate chips (top 8 free) and get molds from a craft store. Not sure how easy an Easter bunny would be to make.

Virginia N. my son has multiple food allergies, and although there is a warning on some labels saying "may contain milk" I have given my son PEEPS AND COMPANY™ candy before. I'm a little more careful about that one though :) Also the NaturalCandyStore.com has great options. :) Find me at http://facebook.com/daytodayMOMents if you want to connect.

Depending on the size, Hershey bars may or may not be safe, but they have excellent, consistent & clear labeling. We eat Kisses & Hershey bars all the time; Spangler has a great allergen brochure; * almost* everything is safe; http://www....spanglercandy.com/faqs/allergen-information ; Tootsie/Charms products are also generally safe; Most Wonka Candy is safe; Just Born (Peeps) are mostly safe; PeanutfreePlanet.com has a lot of candy not normally safe in the US (peanut-free Kit Kats for example) -- just make sure to read labels with all these companies.

Hi Kelly, the store names will depend on what state you are located in. Kroger and Fred Meyer stores carry a lot of milk-free foods including margarines, puddings and ice creams. Some Wal-Mart Supercenters carry Earth Balance margarine (there are dairy-free and dairy & soy-free versions) and milk alternatives (soy milk, almond milk, etc.) You can also post on our community to get more suggestions: http://community.kidswithfoodallergies.org

Whole Foods as the widest selection and about 15 to 20 minutes drive. I like Publix but it depends where you go. The parks have Soy and sometimes rice milk alternatives. Were the pecans listed in the ingredient statement itself? It sounds like maybe they were not based on what you wrote. Companies have the option of putting the top 8 allergens in plain English in either the contains statement or the list of ingredients. But if it is an ingredient and is not listed anywhere on the package, then that is a problem. You can report labeling problems to the FDA http://www.kidswithfoodallergies.org/resourcespre.php?id=33&title=Reporting_an_allergic_reaction_to_foods_or_drugs
