I moved to the NorthWestside about 3 years ago. I need to take my dogs to the veterinarian. Do you guys have any good recommendations for veterinarians preferably on the...
Dick L. replied:
Not quite NW but Coit Animal Clinic is great.
Ruthie L. replied:
Schmitt's Animal Hospital, 3 Mile just W of Kinney
Ryan M. replied:
Westwood Hills Animal Hospital on Leonard across from Walker Road House. As far as price, you won't find anything that you'd probably consider reasonable because they know we love our pets and will do anything for them so they've got us. Avoid Great Lakes Animal Hospital on West River next to the Vestal. They have a vet on staff that smacked my cat in her face when she started freaking out when she was getting shots. Wasted a lot of money there and got zero results.
Leigh M. replied:
I use Kelly's Animal Clinic
Betsy M. replied:
Kelley's Animal Clinic on Kinney and Remembrance. They have taken excellent care of my dog. However, they are probably not the most cost effective option. Their charges always seem a tad on the high side.
Gina H. replied:
Coit Animal Clinic, corner of Coit and Knapp
Barb M. replied:
Schmidts on 3 Mile has been our vet for years...have never been disappointed! Wonderful and loving staff. Avoid West River Animal Hospital on West River...started there 20 years ago and our experience was devastating. Never went back.
Kelly M. replied:
Standale Vet on Kinney Ave NW
Kaye B. replied:
Weisner, Innis and Schoen on Plainfield. They're great!
Coit Animal Clinic Dr. Phelps and prices are very fair . Highly recommend .

Jenison Animal Hosp 616-457-9230. Dr. Holt is a older nice vet. I've never had a pet put to sleep there but have had regular check ups. They are the most reasonably priced place I've found. Their office is nothing fancy, but they are caring. My heart goes out to you. Never ease to say those goodbyes.
Rosa G. replied:
I agree with Nikki Marie that Weisner, Innes and Shoen are great. They also have good hours. Address: 3425 Plainfield Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525, Phone:(616) 363-3831
Sandy H. replied:
I am so sorry for what you are about to face. I would advise against Wesner, Innis & Schoen due to horrible experiences there with my own boxers, not to mention the most horribly rude and inconsiderate staff. I highly recommend Red Barn Vet...Dr. Marr is outstanding!
Andrea R. replied:
The Animal Shelter does, but you can only drop her off. If you want to be present, most vets allow that. South Kent Vet Hospital in Caledonia or Red Barn Vet Clinic in Cutlerville, we have used both.
Nikki M. replied:
My mom had to put our beloved cat down it only costed her $87 and that was with her added extras she wanted. Wiesner and Innis on Plainfield. They are an awesome vet I highly recommend them
Natalie P. replied:
Georgetown Animal Hospital 2856 Port Sheldon St Hudsonville, Michigan (616) 669-3612 . If you want her cremated they will make arrangements for that also. You are respondible for paying for it and her ashes will be return to their office for you to pick up.
Are there any vets I'm the area that work on a payment basis? Something is wrong with my dog, he is in pain and has been crying out all night long. Tia
Coleen A. replied:
Try Southkent vets in Caledonia
Michelle T. replied:
What I hate so frk much is they are Vets and God forbid if someone's animal gets hurt and they financially can't pay to help them most vet's do not give a damn !!
Kim B. replied:
Sand Lake Vet616-636-4100. Or try Animal Hospital of Lowell. They have office hours every other Saturday, not sure if this Saturday is it or not. 616-987-8484.
Kim B. replied:
You could also try Dr. Jen Petrovich at Clyde Park Vet Clinic. 531-0455. I've heard she sometimes helps in cases like this.
Denisha N. replied:
Lowell anime hospital. Also all or most vets take care credit. Emergency vets won't turn on them down so if in pain get the poor baby in and worry about Moola later.
Help...I'm thinking I've got a seriously sick kitty on my hands. I'm in Grandville, where is there a good emergency vet close?
Ally D. replied:
Byron Center
Kelly L. replied:
Blue Pearl on Michigan between Filler and Beltline by New Beginnings. Fantastic and prices were less than the one on Plainfield. Call your vet first as they may work with you or discuss with you. Best of luck!
Cheryl M. replied:
South Kent Vet in Caledonia 891-9070 til 10 I don't know how long they have had this kitty but I have had them come in puking blood and they just needed to be wormed.. Of course there are many other causes. as well.

The Humane Society of West Michigan in Walker. I volunteered there for years and there was usually a main coon.
