The above poster has a great idea. When you are ready, there are wonderful rescues always in need of fosters. Two in our area come to mind: One Dog at a Time ODAAT and All But Furgotten. Also Hospaws does great work helping out people in who temporarily find themselves in need of alternate homes due to illness, hospitalization, or similar circumstances. Check out their pages. So sorry for your loss.
