I had my male Rottie neutered at Dr Lints and they were fantastic and I had my female pitbull spayed at the Humane Society. They were also great but I recommend that with any surgery, no matter what the age of the animal to go ahead and get the pre surgical blood work to make sure there are no underlying conditions. Our pitbull was only 16 months old. We weren't offered the blood work and to be honest I was unaware of how important it is and the anesthesia from the surgery put her into full blown kidney failure. We almost lost her. We were told it's not routine for younger dogs but that just proves regardless of the age of your animal that there may be something wrong with them that you aren't aware of. So please, whoever you choose, get the blood work done. I know it costs a little more but it may prevent something life threatening in the long run.

I go to East Suburban Animal hospital in export. I've never had to wait longer than 15 mins, and the costs are average. I will say that if you have a serious condition, it may be worth your time and money to go to PVSEC in Pittsburgh. I have 3 other dogs that I take there as well.HIGHLY recommend. Not cheap but worth every penny!

I have a few recommendations for you. FIRST: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Doc (Robert) Schowalter @ Golden Mile Animal Clinic 1835 Golden Mile Highway Pittsburgh, PA 15239 (Murrysville) 724-325-2661 M&T &Th 9a-8p W&F 9a-430p Sa 9a-12p He REALLY helped with our Blue Pittie, Princess Patches Lucky LuLu Unfortunately, we lost our girl on December 12th, after years of fighting against her horrific allergies. SECOND: here's a few of my FAVORITE home remedies I've used WITHOUT a prescription to give relief to our girl for her skin: VETERICYIN SPRAY GEL. It can be found least expensively on the internet. It is used for wound care & it kills MRSA & other nasty infections. A warm soak of Epsom Salts in/on the location where your pup is experiencing oozing puss filled blisters. This will help to dry those areas out. Side note, our Patches was very often times 24 hour care, requiring 5-7 soaks with the Epsom Salts for her paws mainly, they were SO bloodied & raw at points that eventually I tore ALL the grass up on the entire one side of my house & put down pea gravel so she had her own space (she was DEATHLY ALLERGIC to EVERY SINGLE type of grass that grew in PA, ALL TREES & WEEDS & the list continued on & on for 16 pages) All the years we were BLESSED to have with her. She came to SAVE US after she was used to provide countless puppies & fight for her dinner. Our BEAUTIFUL blue pittie Patches had the face of an ANGEL & I will miss my SWEET BABYGIRL ... I hope & pray this information will help even ONE person care for their dog suffering from allergies. I also recommend: a grain FREE diet ... Earthborn Great Plains w/Bison was always fed to Patches & can be found at Burtons Pet Store for a fairly reasonable price. Good luck Rachel Fafalios Haynes, PLEASE, Feel FREE to contact me if you have any questions, I would be MORE than happy to try to help you. I assure you ... I am not a qualified veterinarian or vet tech, but I have dedicated the past 6 years of my LIFE to doing EVERYTHING in my power to saving my Patches life & keeping her comfortable with every breath I took.

Dr. Vought is fabulous! I have gone to other vets, some mentioned in this post, she is hands down THE BEST I've ever had. She does mobile and has an office in her home. She takes her time with you and does not rush you. I have a cat who tore the tendon in the back of her leg in May. Another vet basically told me I would have to have her leg amputated without really examining her. Dr. Vought took such good care of her, performed surgery and weekly (sometimes more sometimes less) splint changes and laser treatments. My Spunky is now running around like a kitten at 10 years old, you can't even tell there was anything ever wrong. I am VERY picky about who treats my cats and would not hesitate for a minute taking any of them to her for any reason.
