Vet recommendations for my nervous dog? I'm a recent transplant from NYC and my partner and I are hoping to get some recommendations for a patient and good veterinarian...

Dr. Molly with City Paws Home Health will come to your house. She was fantastic with my two cats. One is nervous and terrified of people. The other would get so worked up traveling that she'd vomit, urinate, and defecate in her carrier. Having a vet come to us helped both of them stay calmer and she was great and doing her job without traumatizing them. Look for a place that specializes in low stress handling. Also ask if they will do some happy visits with you (this is where the animal just comes in and meets the people, gets treats, nothing medical happens). We have OSU vet school here which is one of the best in the country, so there are a lot of good options in town.

If you are concerned with/interested in investigating anxiety issues, OSU has a fantastic companion animal behavioral program. https://vet.osu.edu/vmc/companion/our-services/behavioral-medicine

[Have the vet come to you ](https://peacelovepaws.vet) As a personal friend, through pet connections, I can’t recommend Dr Kris enough.

I have a not-so-friendly dog and Dr. Nicol at Beechwold has always been incredibly patient and amazing with him. She’s also super soft spoken and calm which helps! Good luck, I know it’s stressful!
Could anyone please give a referral for an AFFORDABLE vet? Thank you:)

Dr. Jim Southard, Alexandria Animal Hospital. Not Gahanna, but WELL worth the drive!
Andrea M. replied:
Rascal Units but they are in Dublin. They are very affordable and it is well worth the drive.

We have found the Animal Care Center at Cherry Way is affordable and all the vets are great as well!

I have had great luck with Vetcare Animal Wellness. I've done some price comparisons and they seem to be the most reasonable. Dr. Carmandy is amazing, the office is very clean, and the entire staff is so helpful. My dog goes to daycare at Animal Care Center Cherry Way, but I usually have Vetcare do the vet stuff because it's cheaper.

Gahanna Animal Hospital - best vet anywhere with the most experience - we've been going there for years - 614-471-2201
Christine A. replied:
I agree with Roy.....Gahanna Animal Hospital. Dr. Clay is my favorite vet there. She is very conservative with her treatment. I never feel like I'm overspending, while my dogs still receive excellent care!

Rascal Animal Hospital in Dublin. It's a hike but very reasonable and the best vets I've ever had for my dogs!
