Any recommendations for in home vet tech care and pet sitting? My cat was recently diagnosed with diabetes and now needs twice a day subcutaneous insulin injections....

Especially if it's only a few days, many Veterinary hospitals do medical boarding. Just call around.

My wife and I (same area) use Critter Sitters for pet sitting, and they're great. Their website (crittersitterscolumbus.com) lists "administering of medications" as one of their services, so it would be worth checking to see if they could do injections. If not, my next suggestion would be the Animal Hospital of Worthington. They've come to our place for routine checkups of our travel-anxious kitty, so they may be able to help.

It’s worth asking your vet to see if anyone there wants to make some side cash.

My cat started needing the same care a few years ago. I also had reservations about putting that on my friends, but it ended up working very well and none have seemed overwhelmed. For longer trips, I get two friends to help and they tend to split mornings and evenings so they only have to drive to my house once a day each. I give their name to my vet in case they need to buy more insulin/food or need to call and ask any questions. My vet was very happy to have them call if needed. If that won't work out, I know people who just have their regular vets board their cats.

Scales, Tails, and Paws Pet Sitting was wonderful when I lived closer to Columbus. Not sure if they do meds but they took really good care of my cats when I was out of town. (https;//scalestailsandpaws.com)

There is a vet tech at Health & Harmony animal hospital in Grandview that does home visit pet sitting.

Look at Le Pooch, they likely offer this service. Send them a message!

Cats Only on Rieverside often have vet techs that will house sit ($50/day). They also have an option where they will stop in and charge an hourly rate. If worst comes to worst, you can board him there (I think it is $40/day for a cat that needs meds). Sorry - I know this is so stressful to deal with.

Friends ; any referal or recommendation you have for a vet dentist or oral surgeon in MI , OH, IN area ? My naughty baby here , 2.5 years old, had macerated his tongue...
Hilliard Friends - Does anyone have an awesome vet here in Hilliard you could recommend? We had a big scare with Pixie this weekend. Thankfully her blood work came back...

VCA Mill Run is where we go...our vet, Dr. Andrea Jensen is also one of my clients. I love her and trust her with all of my babies.
Christen S. replied:
I like Dr. Watters and Dr. Bethel at VCA Sawmill. And the kitten has a cardiologist, neurologist, and dermatologist at MedVet if you need a specialist.

OSU Veterinary Medical Center - hand's down. I think I took my border collie to every vet in the city when he started acting strange and no one could give me an answer. Within an hour they had diagnosed, beyond a shadow-of-a-doubt, that it was metastatic cancer. It hurt to put him down - it hurt even more to know I made him suffer over and over at a half-dozen vets before getting the right answer. /$.02 I wish I could remember the guy's name that I chased around the examination table. He wasn't in Hilliard, though, so you're safe. He was a douche and I was very serious about my dog. Very.

Our kids with dogs use Rascal Animal Hospital. Pricing is normally half of the usual and they really like the people.
Does anyone know of a good vet on the NW side of Columbus that does not charge an arm and leg for annual shots and teeth cleaning of dogs? Ugh!!!

I purchased a book in 1999 "The Nature of Animal Healing" by Dr. Martin Goldstein a Cornell University vet. It's my bible for my babes. He believes pets are over-vaccinated. I got Daisy when she was 5 and only gave her one rabies shot ever and no heart worm ever. She was out and about everyday, although not near other dogs or kids. I never had her teeth cleaned and the vet said she had the teeth of a young dog at 16. It wasn't just about $$$ because we all know our pets are our kids ....Just sayin', for me and my furry ones, sometimes less is more. Good luck!!
