Dr Miniman is great. We were just there yesterday and my daughter really likes him. She had to have work done with an oral surgeon and he called him personally to coordinate.

My whole family goes to CMB Dental in Broomall. They are awesome with kids and have a treasure chest that the kids get to pick a prize from. My 6 and 4 year olds love it there.

DuPont Special Needs Dental Clinic, but they do not take Keystone First (Medicaid) though they take other dental insurance. My daughter, now 16, has gone there since age 4. We tried Dr. Bernick when she was 4 and our experience was traumatic. He told her, and us, he would use a papoose board with her to restrain her as he cleaned her teeth, then suggested we also give her meds to calm her down before she came. After this consult, we never went back. It took us about 4-5 years at DuPont, faithfully going every 6 months, to finally Maddie sitting in the dental chair, willingly getting her teeth completely cleaned, no restraints and no meds needed. She sat in front of the hygienist all those years getting her teeth cleaned, they moved at her pace and never made her sit in the dental chair. Every child moves at their own pace. Now, at age 16, she goes back willingly, all by herself. That was always our goal - for her to go to the dentist herself, so that when I am no longer around, she can still have her teeth taken care of. Sorry so long...

Elwyn Dental Clinic--Dr. Gregg Chilastri (spelling??) and Dr. Steve Solow on City Avenue--a TOOTH SIGN--my husband begged Dr. Solow to put braces on Chris and he finally did. Then he took a two-year ordeal and saw Chris every two weeks and removed the braces after nine months. Yes, they did have to be removed surgically under anesthesia because even though we got a spray pic and brushed as well as we could Chris' gums grew over the braces. But the surgery went well and he put in a permanent retainer.
Joe C. replied:
Yes!! Dr. Scott Goldsleger at Broomall Pediatric Dentistry, which just moved to a nice new facility in Havertown. Broomall has a someone iffy reputation, but that's because of Dr. Bernick. Stay away from him. Dr. Scott is UNBELIEVABLE. My guy used to need sedation and papoose restraint, until he started seeing Dr. Scott. The whole staff is very patient and let Jake take the time he needed to be comfortable. Now, no sedation, no retraint. Jake sits in the chair and cooperates. Dr. Scott is amazing.

Joe C. replied:
A few weeks ago I stood in the hall while he screamed at a kid for moving. Another time he barged into our room while Dr. Scott was treating my son and started offering unsolicited opinions. I had to ask him to leave. I'm glad if others have had a good experience, but I've seen him be awful.
Need recommendation on a good pediatric Dentist in Havertown...any Htown peeps help me out??

Meghan D. replied:
I loved Dr Geigas! But because of his barbaric "let's not use any Novocain when I do a filling!" Is why I hate the mere thought of the dentist!!!
