Can anyone suggest a good pediatric dentist, it doesn't have to be in Phoenixville. I am willing to travel. My daughter is not a huge fan of the dr we see now.
Kelly J. replied:
Dr Ben McKee is Berwyn is awesome!!
Wendy M. replied:
Dr Pike once told me (as my then 3 year old son was scared and acting up) to "have my husband bring him in..maybe he will behave for your husband"..I walked out and never went back..Dr Hans in Trappe is the best as is Dr. Mellini in West Mark Chester
Kelly S. replied:
We had a very similar horror story with Dr. Pyke - he was ignorant and rude to my husband. I hated the way he talked to the kids. And then to top it all off he submitted things wrong to the insurance company!
Bree D. replied:
Not Dr Pyke in Pottstown. He told me not to bring my kids back to him because they do not like needles and my kids were scared. He was very rude. I do not recommend him. Every since that my kids have gone to Upper Merion Dental Associates. They have a indoor 2 story play house, arcade games, TVs and a fish tank. My kids are now fine with going to the dentist!!
Sarah C. replied:
My son's school recommended Dr. Hans in trappe as well. They say everyone there is wonderful.
Pam J. replied:
family dental in Paoli is very good with kids - not sure which dentist would be best but they would put you with the right one... they have a hygienist specifically for kids - she is great - I've watched her work (on other peoples kids - don't have my own) and am amazed. they are located just this side of Paoli train station and rt 30. their phone number is 610-644-1502

Had problems with Dr Pyke when my children were little,he would yell at them,he was just ignorant
Amy H. replied:
Means Pyke hasn't changed since 20 years ago when I had him as a kid. He used to humiliate me and tease me and i left his office crying or close to crying many a time as a child... He also ignored when both me and my parents voiced to him that the flouride treatement they gave at the time (the styrofaom trays with the liquid that you bit down on) made me ill, to the point of vomitting, but he continued to insist on those treatments, unbeknownst to my parents who were shooed off to the waiting room as to "not be a distraction" to me.... Here's the info for Children's Dental Health Associates: http://www.childrensdentalhealth.com/
Linda L. replied:
Love Dr. Jeff Melini...his office is fun and efficient. He respects my no flouride decision and my daughter has always been happy to go there.
Kathy K. replied:
Dr. Sandra Grizbicki in Paoli. She's the only dentist my kids have gone to and they're not aged 17 and 21.
Michelle R. replied:

Dr Eric Hans is by far the best ! In trappe
Laurie M. replied:
Chester County Denistry for Children...they are in Lionville. Dr. Melini is great and they have arcade games in the waiting room for the kids!
Carolyn B. replied:
My daughter liked Dr. Hans, too. She had to have teeth pulled when she was about 5 or 6, and he was great.
Christina M. replied:
Dr Pyke. My boys love him and what I love is they don't force the kids they work with them to make them comfortable.
Tammy C. replied:
Upper Merion Dental
Michele R. replied:
We had a completely opposite experience w/ Dr. Pyke. My oldest hated going to him and we had issues with a letter he submitted (and signed) to our insurance co. regarding oral surgery to place a cap on my then two-year-old's tooth, which was broken when he fell and hit it on our metal dog crate, and at that age, it required general anesthesia in a hospital setting. He signed a letter stating that our son presented with "multiple dental carries" (cavities) necessitating the surgery - the thing is, our son is almost 20 now and has NEVER had a cavity. This letter almost prevented his surgery from being covered had we not pursued the situation and addressed it with the help of our son's pediatrician and gotten him to send a correction. Following the surgery, we transferred our sons to Axler - Kessler in the VF Commons and have had great interactions w/ staff and dentists, ever since.

My son goes to children's Dental Health in Drexel hill Pa...I love it! I'm a super picky, over protective mom that sees everything!
Nadine H. replied:
I would recommend Upper Merion over Children's Dental Health. Worked with both groups in a surgical setting. Dr Jay and his group by far are more family friendly and have a great bedside manner. They are over past the KOP mall

Dr Sara at Oaks Dental. My daughter was asked not to come back by 4 dentist before we tried her. She is the only one she will let do work on her teeth. That included pulling of 7 baby teeth. Did you know nitrous oxide comes in flavors?
April S. replied:
I agree with Ann ^ Dr. Sara at Oaks Dental specialist on Highland Ave. She see's all three of mine, she is so good with the kids (she's also young). Just to give you an idea how much she loves the kids, she stopped over to the expo center a few weeks ago to watch my daughter and two other of her patients perform (dance) & stayed for an hour. She really makes the kids feel at ease.
Dr. Sandra Gryzbicki, Paoli, industrial Blvd, right by Paoli Hosp.

I will never go to Gentle Dentist or Devon dental again. I loved king of Prussia dental. Gentle dentist missed/ caused a dangerous abses and Devon dental and I had differences of opinion in children's pain management and comfort. Owen was obviously in severe pain but couldn't talk due to all the work in his mouth so I politely talked for him and was asked to leave the room. Hell no. Owen comes first.
Best Pediatric dentist in the area. I need one that will let me go back with my daughter she doesn't do well without me or her dad with her.
Claire E. replied:

We used to see Dr. Gryzbicki and we absolutely loved her. However, our insurance switched and she didn't take the new one. Now we see Reardon and we are happy with their office as well.
Kristine B. replied:
I second Dr. Benjamin McKee and Dr. Melissa Bergmaier who share an office in Devon/Wayne. Both are fantastic and only work with kids.

We have a friend who works for Dr. Pyke. He's great!
Anyone know of a pediatric dentist that takes kids without dental insurance? Our lapsed and it's taken forever to reinstate. Also my oldest needs a dental checkup before...
Brian A. replied:
They will all take kids without insurance...you just pay out of pocket. Plenty of people don't have dental coverage these days. Oh and Dr. McKee in Wayne is the best pediatric dentist in the Philly area in my opinion.
Carolyn R. replied:
Dr Seth Rosen in Audubon, takes insurance and offers his own in-house option which includes 2 cleanings/year (and discounted dental services). It's less expensive for my family than buying into my husbands dental plan.
Andrea T. replied:
Liberty dental in phoenixville is great. Google healthcare for access to see if you live in covered area. If so apply for assistance with healthcare access. They give very reasonable copay based on income. I used both when I had no coverage.
