Isn't hair already thin? I don't understand this. I've never seen thick hair on someone's head. Not beard-thick at least.

What part of NOVA? There is a big difference between Arlington and Centreville for example. Are you willing to travel into DC? What price range?
Are you someone who would drop a couple hundred easy on color and balayage, or are you just looking for "maintenance" every few months? Do you have a preference for male or female stylists?
The way you've written your post (minimalistic) makes me think you are not super particular about your hair in the sense that you get your hair cut by a particular stylist back home during school breaks.
Yelp is a good place to start. I've been to a few salons in the area (Ahmet at Salon Simis, Young at Youngs hair salon, Don at D Rock Salon), but am now at a barbershop. If you add a little bit more detail I'm sure I can point you in the right direction.

You’re in Woodbridge, so your best bet is Statements The Salon at the intersection of Minnieville and Old Bridge. They’re absolutely the best salon in this part of PWC.
