Is there other options for phone/internet service companies servicing HB? We have frontier and not happy with service. Thanks for recommendations!

I use Spectrum for internet only. My home phone service is completely free each month. I purchased a Obi200 and it connects to my router. My Google Voice is linked to it and I ported over my long time home phone number, too. It's 10/10! :) (y) https://www.obitalk.com/info/googlevoice

Love Spectrum service. Not a fan of the pound of flesh they come calling for, monthly.
Looking for a new internet service provider. Currently have a bundle with spectrum but I am getting rid of cable and the landline and need something to replace the...
Hey Everyone...Planning Commissioner and Technology Consultant Dan here! Let's get this straight real quick. Frontier is a publicly traded company that Verizon (formally GTE, not Verizon wireless) sold its California assets to. Spectrum was the new brand formed by the buyout/merger of TimeWarner Cable (not TimeWarner media), Charter Communications (Long Beach's cable company) and Brighthouse Communications. Huntington Beach is only serviced by one main telephone company - Frontier and one cable company - Spectrum. They both have their pros and cons and your mileage may vary depending on where you live in the City. Spectrum offers Coax (the screw on connector with the single copper thingy sticking out of it) service. They offer television, data(internet) and voice (phone). And a new over the top (OTT) internet only television service that I don't have a lot of information on yet. Frontier has two offerings: FIOS (their Fiber to the Home FTTH) system which literally runs a piece of fiber optic cable to your house, and their legacy old school copper wiring system (POTS). FIOS offers high speed symmetric internet (same speed uploading and downloading), digital voice, and television service. POTS is old school phone lines and DSL internet (speed varies on how far away from their office you are). Frontier arguably took on too much debt and looks to probably go bankrupt in the next 12 to 18 months. What this means for residents of Huntington Beach is still unclear. But since they're the telecom of last resort, some sort of receivership will be created and you'll still have your services, though you may lose TV service. This is all speculation at this point, but Bloomberg reported last week that Frontier is already shopping the service it purchased from Verizon last year. As a candidate a Planning Commission for the City and now a candidate for City Council, I've been working to position the City to create better competition in the Internet Service Provider space and I'm extremely interested in the City exploring the creation of its own Municipal Fiber Network for businesses and residents. It'd take a heavy lift and a lot of stakeholder buy in, but in a recent survey of Municipal owned Internet providers all but one was substantially cheaper than commercially own service. If you have any questions, I'm happy to answer and provide some additional resources.
Hello!

We've had TWC since day one moving here (almost 3 yrs). Never had an issue with service or billing and customer service has always been great. And they've been bought out by Charter anyway. I had Charter previously and also liked the service. Only have them for Internet, not for TV. We have DirecTV for TV. http://www.timewarnercable.com/en/support/faqs/our-company/charter-twc-merger/twc-charter-merger-information.html
We have Time Warner, now Spectrum for Internet service. Nothing but problems since they changed to Spectrum. Seriously considering changing providers. Does anyone...

Hey HB peeps! We are looking for the best high-speed reasonably priced Internet service in the area, what do you recommend? P.S. We really have no need for the bundle...
