Try Dr. Hassan by the hospital. He's internal medicine but that is considered primary care. 256-265-1910. Also have you tried Physician Care at Hampton Cove? They have male physicians. 256-265-0350.

Dr. Horton at twickenham pediatrics is awesome 2565331030. He is in the same practice as Dr Chappell. He comes to the hospital to do the daily baby checks after birth. He will actually meet with you before birth to answer questions. I have never waited longer than 10 mins in lobby and always have been able to get the same day if child has been sick. I breastfeed with two children and he supported me through thrush and mastitis infections.

Mike Powell is really good and definitely doesn't push formula. Not sure if he's taking new patients though...

Field Pediatrics is good - Dr. Scott & Dr. Susan were both supportive when I nursed mine, even when we had some issues with my youngest.

Pediatric Associates of Madison, my girls use Dr. meadows there. And I use Dr. Sholes at Huntsville Hospital Physician Care at Bailey Cove. Both are wonderful!

We meet Dr. P when our Dr. Was out and she was very open minded to natural but also gave us all options with pros and cons. You have to fill out a new pt form online to get a doctor there and it is easiest to set it up now before your sweet baby gets here

Emily, you should be very happy with Dr. Powell. He takes a conservative approach, and is super supportive of breastfeeding. As far as yourself goes, try Dr. Vito Pukis at Blossomwood Medical. I just started going there, and was very pleased with the staff, and the doctor.

I use BrightStarts Pediatrics in Madison. Dr. Jain and Dr. Lotfy are both great and they usually get you in and out pretty quick. Average visit is 45 minutes with few exceptions. I once took my kids for strep and they offered to test me too for only $10. Saved me a trip to my doctor. They also have a well and sick side.

We love Whitesburg Family Medicine. One man and two women. I see the woman and Pat sees the man. We love them. All three are young.

We use Dr. Isabella Strickland on So. Parkway and she is wonderful.

We use the HH physicians care at the corner. They have a lab in house too:-) They are good and close.

We use Drs. Fields. husband and wife team that are great. On Glen Eagle Drive.

Sorry - Drs. Fields are peds only. Didn't read very well. I actually go to First Family Practice of Madison since it's close to my work. Scott drives out there when needed. I have loved it!! One dr and 3 nurse practioners. I can always get in without any trouble.

We like Dr. Brian Cost at Total Sports Care on Balmoral Dr (off Airport). It's a family medicine practice and last I heard they were accepting new patients. It may still take a few weeks to get in as a new patient, but once accepted, we have never had an issue with getting an appt or even waiting long once we're there.

We use Dr. Kinzer! I love him, my kids love him! He has been my Dr. since I was 17 and my kids Dr. since birth! He always takes blood when they are sick so I always know if they truly need an antibiotic or not.

Dr. Bryan D. Evans is 100% hands down the best. My brothers haven't lived here for years, but he still cares for them, and helped me while I was in Wichita. He also stays on top of always being in tune with all current research, meds and technologies. Plus they can do bloodwork & xrays in office, which is great for keeping insurance coverage to a max.

I see Dr. David Showers at Creekside Family and I ALWAYS get an appointment when I need it, Kelly. Especially after 3, they know I'm a teacher. He is at Creekside Family across street from where 801 Franklin was. He also attends church with us!!!

Maria and I have used Dr Darla Cowart for several years and like her quite a bit. However, I've had some Saturday/Sunday situations where we went to see Dr. Rastogi on Moore's Mill Road. She was surprisingly good - I've been myself and taken both girls to her. She was thorough, competent and caring - and - she is the only Dr I see in Huntsville now.

We loved Dr. R of the last comment until she sent my hubby to the hospital with a misdiagnosis and meds that made his real problem much worse. Very scary. She also refused to bill our insurance (high deductible) so that our visits this yr which we paid out of pocket would count toward deductible. She also can't practice at the hospital so she said, so hubby had to find new Dr to admit and treat him. Bad memories.

All medical doctors perscribe medicine, that is what they learn in medical school, meds & surgery. I use Dr. Deb (Debra V. Gilliam DC, PHD) in Madison at the Progressive Medicine Clinic or I talk to my midwife friend.

I use Dr. Cheatham and like him real well!!! I look his nurse practioner (I USUALLY JUST SEE HER!!) I've really heard a lot of good things about Dr. Irle. One of my friends just died ad he was her Dr. He went to her house twice the day that she died. I love Dr. Gilliam!!!

Sorry, I forgot to thank everyone for the recommendations. I guess the negative side to having an amazing pediatrician is trying to find someone to see when your kids get to old for him:(. Tish Duncan Henderson, I checked and Dr. Irle does still practice in Decatur.
