We use Dr Killian in Birmingham as our Orthopedic surgeon. My daughter had a condition that was misdiagnosed for over a year by 10 different doctors. We finally found Dr Killian and he diagnosed her in less than 5 minutes. He operated almost 3 years ago and she has had no problems since. His office is Orthopedics for Kids and it is at St Vincents hospital.

Dr Sterling and Martens are foot/ankle orthos at Sportsmed. Martens did both of my foot surgeries and he's wonderful! I would go see either of them and see if you really need the injections, they may have alternatives

Try The Orthopedic Center (TOC). I've had great success with knee and hand doctors there. Also, they have a Madison campus if that helps.

My daughter broke her growth plate in her tibia about 18 months ago and we went to Dr. Griffin at TOC. We loved him and his staff. He did her surgery 2 days after her break and talked directly to her about everything, explained exactly what was happening, what he would do and made sure she was comfortable with everything. She asked a million questions (she was 13 at the time) and he answered every single one. She hasn't had any problems with her ankle at all since the break. Good luck, I hope she recovers quickly. BTW the best thing we did was rent a knee scooter for Makayla instead of crutches, made getting around every where so much easier for her since it was no weight on the foot for 8 weeks.

I'm currently dealing with a broken fib, and saw Dr. Thomasson. While he was great, his nurse does not return calls - at all. So, keep that in mind, maybe go with someone else:)

Stanton Davis at TOC installed two big screws in my right midfoot in January 2011 after a pretty nasty Lisfranc fracture.. I've run ten ultramarathons on it, raced my bike two seasons and have thousands of miles cycling on it with no problems.
