Funny thing, I'm sitting at Family Psychiatric on Alto right now! Waiting to see Dr. Roegner. We really love this office. My son is very challenging and I couldn't raise him without this doctor!

My son, and I were both diagnosed, as well, several years ago, and we went to Family Psychiatric on Alto. Dr McClure, and Dr Roegner are both very good. We also went to Kokomo pediatrics, initially. I believe both take Medicaid, I know Kokomo Pediatrics does. Good luck, I know it's a tough road, and I hope u can find the right help!

Dr. Schiltz is the best. My kids and I have never had any problems with appointments and they love him and the counselors up there. Great group of people!
Beth G. replied:
Oasis has an NP out of Marion who can prescribe psychotropic meds; however, she doesn't take Medicaid (at least at this time). Howard just added a new psych, Dr. Ratliff. Options within Howard County are limited, sadly
Sonja T. replied:
Integrity Family Counseling. Takes Medicaid. But if you need a psychiatrist to prescribe meds because his medical dr doesn't then no. Psychologist, masters level and licensed social workers. Great people! !

I hope you can find the right help too. My kids have the same issues and go to family psychiatric. Anyone that talks to Dr. Roegner knows he cares a great deal about his patients. Everything takes time because everyone is different. Two of my boys were diagnosed and treated quick while it took forever for the others plus me. I thought I was gonna pull my hair out but they finally got it. I just think if you are a little patient with the whole process it will pay off. I wish you the best.
Nicole H. replied:
I could raise mine without Dr. Roegner either
Jessica S. replied:
Dr Edwards but he cant prescribe meds, he will work hand in hand with your family Dr to put your son on the right meds though
Patricia T. replied:
Dr Sultz down town is not a good guy to see i used to take my son to Trinity House at St Joes and see Dr Dezara he is awsome with kids and my son is adad, odd, bipolar, suffers from seperation anxiety and is in the broad spectrum for autism
Rebecca P. replied:
It's Dr. Schiltz, Patricia, and he was the one that helped me with my medications the most (won't say what for) when I was in high school. He's very straight to the point and some people need that. It's not a psychiatrist's job to have a long chat about feelings. I had a psychologist for that. There are also counselors. My psychologist was at Riley in downtown Indy. Her name is Dr. Lagges. They have several other doctors and behavioral specialists in that same office as well. It's worth the drive if you're serious about helping your child.
Jason S. replied:
Our child has it also. My wife Chastity Stroud can give you the # of his doctor
Rebecca P. replied:
Dr. Schiltz downtown at Howard Behavioral Health
Tracey F. replied:
Dr. Schiltz has been the psychiatrist we have had the best experiences with!

The Family Psychiatric Center on Alto Road works with children, and they are all really nice there. They do take medicaid. You might look into them....Good luck.
