In need of an awesome pediatrician in north Irving. My daughter is 9 and needs a very nurturing female doctor. She gets very nervous in the office. Just found out ours...
Huck C. replied:
I had Dr RK Stahlman from birth till I was 16. His office was in his house off W Plymouth by Lively ES
Amber B. replied:
Defiantly go to Pediatric Center of Las Colinas! We ONLY see Sharolyn Dihigo. She is AMAZING! So loving to my kids and takes her time always. There are 3 of them, Dr Schleier, Dr Tomecko and Dr. Sharolyn Dihigo (she was a nurse practitioner and now she has her doctorate-she is my FAV! Oh and Dr Barrett retired a LONNNGGG time ago. He actually sent all of his patients to Dr. Schleier's office. That was 11-12 years ago. He was my husbands pedi and then my kids.
Amber B. replied:
Also Dr. Hollands office stays too packed. Way over booked and the wait is always horrible. My son stayed strapped to board for over 2 hrs to get circumcised. Pediatric Center is never over booked.
Andrea M. replied:
Sounds like there are several good choices. Dr. Elizabeth Dickey is our dr.....I have heard that it is hard to get in but we have never had a problem unless it is during her annual 2 week scuba diving vacation. I think you are wise to just see who works well with Olivia --- it is her that has to feel comfortable with the doctor.
Cassie B. replied:
My kids and now grandkids love Dr Fowers@635 and MacArthur North Texas Pediatrics! She is awesome.
Jennifer L. replied:
Dr Elizabeth Dickey is the best!
Wende J. replied:
What about Baylor medical center irving. Dr. Karen holland
Jacqualea C. replied:
My kids went to Dr. Holland. She is near or at retirement. She also goes to my church and if Susan Heller is too far, she is in the same medical complex. (My kids are 43 and 46 if that gives you a clue about her retirement being eminent.)
Trevor P. replied:
Dr. Murphy will always be the best. I'm pretty sure he took care of almost every kid in Irving at some point. For those of you who know him, I've heard he's really sick. Keep him in your prayers.
Gretchen B. replied:
Yes Dr. Murphy needs alot of prayers and positive thoughts. We always used Roger Knapp till he moved to Grapevine. Just too far to go when you are sick. he was and still is so caring and funny. He still remembers the,ids and they are in their 30's now.
Stephanie G. replied:
You want to roll old school, Dr. Barrett was the best! We had a girl in our office about two years ago who came back from a trip to Africa with mumps. We all had to pull our vaccination records. Med Surg had mine, dating all the way back to my first visit with Dr. Barrett in 1967...
Kim H. replied:
Dr Joan Kay at Medical & Surgical Center
Jennifer B. replied:
Everyone at Pediatric Center of Las Colinas is great. My daughter sees nurse practitioner Sharolyn Dihigo there and we love her.
Jensy G. replied:
Stephanie Copeland --an amazing and compassionate pediatrician.
Kristy M. replied:
Use to go to Med Surgical Clinic of Irving by Baylor but got too crowded n difficult to get appt. This is not in Irving but MyChildrens in Grapevine next to grapevine mills is great...Dr. Debra Wright-Bowers. She's good in taking time out to talk n not rushed, also explains everything up front & is understanding.
Trina D. replied:
Dr. Stephanie Copeland most definitely!!!!
Jon R. replied:
Try Irving family Medecin in Irving doctor Alfred Huang is great. A real doctor!
Carla R. replied:
My childrens on macarthur across from baylor is great Dr. Elophala takes her time and answers all your questions she is very sweet and nurturing
Stephanie G. replied:
We loved Dr. Kay, but we left her practice because it was understaffed and overbooked. We always get in the same day with Dr. Tomecko, and her waiting room NEVER has more than one or two kids waiting at a time. Med Surg was always filled to overflowing with sick kids, to the point that the sick kids sat in the well kid waiting room.
Jacqualea C. replied:
My grandkids see Dr. Dickey and they like her. In addition, I really like her PA's which is important since sometimes you need to go in for a quick sore throat visit. All the PA's in the office are female also. I also have another recommendation, Dr. Susan Heller, who is at the Medical Surgical building by the hospital. She is absolutely the most wonderful person. She is soft spoken and sweet. My other grandchild goes to her. She is a personal friend of mine. We did not know her when the boys started going to Dr. Dickey. She attends my church and has two wonderful children of her own.
Michelle M. replied:
The phone number for Dickey's office, if needed, 972-331-7200
Kristy B. replied:
I second Dr. Tomecko. Love her!
Jacqualea C. replied:
Erin, if Dr. Heller is too far, then I would recommend Dr. Dickey. I am the main person that takes my grands to the doc since I do not work and their moms are teaching is the reason I answered your post. Other have recommended her and also said the same as I that her PA's are out standing also,
Stephanie G. replied:
Dr. Tomecko is awesome!
Shannon C. replied:
I went to Dr. Barrett, too, until I grew up & went to Dr Pierce. Another "old school" Dr practicing is Dr Ireland. My Dad still sees him.
Valerie B. replied:
Dr. Wincy Tomecko Pediatric Center of Las Colinas 972-401-0700 701 Tuscan Dr #285 Irving TX 75039
William R. replied:
Schleier at Las Colinas Pediatrics is wonderful.
Janis L. replied:
Dr. Dickey is a wonderful Dr.
Valerie B. replied:
Dr. Tomecko was the on call pediatrician when my daughter was born and we just loved her. We switched to her and haven't been back to see anyone else since. Dr. Schleier is awesome too.
Robin F. replied:
I take my kids to Dr. Bhatt at Baylor Med Center on 635 & MacArthur. That Dr. is a man, but there is a female Dr. that is really nice. Sorry, I can't remember her name.
Sarah R. replied:
Dr. Susan Powell at MacArthur Pediatrics is our pediatrician...she's lovely.
Gretchen B. replied:
Erin Brosch Mckee went to Dr. Barrett till he retired. Dr. Pierce was the best ever
Loretta B. replied:
Try Dr Elizabeth Dickey
Stephanie G. replied:
I still can't make eye contact with Dr. Ireland. He was a mean old coot 30 years ago. I can't imagine how grumpy he is now!!
Shannon C. replied:
My Grandma (Betty Steinbach) was Dr Ireland's nurse many, many years ago. I think that's why my Dad has stuck with him.
Edward R. replied:
Dr. Ireland is a charmer:-D Y'all should give homeopathy a try. Stay way from doctors as much as possible. Let nutrition and the body do it's job.

Melissa R. replied:
Dr. Anthony Scott in Grapevine was fabulous when Ava was a newborn. She was premature as well. Only reason we don't still go to him is because he doesn't take our new insurance.:) Dr. Tammi Williams is who we had when Max was a newborn and she was great as well! She's at the Irving Baylor Hospital.
Megan C. replied:
