Dr Chithriki Bartram Park. He is great! I love him.
Debbie M. replied:
Unfortunately, there are not many providers in Jacksonville that accept Magellan. Your best bet would be UF/ Elizabeth Means clinic. If you are pregnant and your PCP has any pull, they may be able to get someone to accept you. We have the toughest times getting our Magellan patients into any specialty at all but ob/gyn is the worst. UF has a contract to accept Magellan but they stay pretty booked up so best advice would be to call and schedule an appointment now and you can always cancel it if you find someone who can see you sooner. The lists provided by the plans are almost never right or the providers have too many medicaid plans so they stop taking new patients. You might be better off looking on Google & just cold calling anyone in your area. Hope this helps
Tracy H. replied:
Dr. Phelan at North Florida OB/GYN in Riverside. Love him!

Everyone should know the reputation of a Dr. & Hospital they are looking into as a provider for the family. UF almost killed me having my son and almost killed my daughter and grandson. I know others that went through the same neglect.

Heather Wolff depending on a few things you do have some options available to you, please message me through my business page and we can talk more. https://www.facebook.com/ElizabethLukeBirthDoulaPlacentaS...

Welcome Heather! My husband is Coast Guard at Kings Bay and I was actually born in Guam. Welcome to the area! It is a great place to live! We will be sad to move this summer. Sorry I can't help with your question as I delivered at Baptist Jax and they don't have water births there.
Hi Heather, There are two birth centers in Jacksonville, Fruitful Vine and the Birth Center of Jax. If you are open to a homebirth, we also have a midwife local to Nassau County (Keisha Midwife Williams). There are plenty of doulas in the area as well! I urge you to check out www.doulamatch.net! We have a great birth community here. Welcome state side! and to Florida!

Ashley R. replied:
North Florida OBGYN is the WORST. I know many people who had unnecessary procedures and tests done by them. It's all about the money and they don't respect your time. I showed up to appts 10-15 minutes early and ended up waiting almost an hour to see the doctor, and it didn't happen just once. Go to Dr. Angela Martin at Memorial - she came highly recommended by every nurse I asked.

Depends on what you are looking for? Male? Female? Large or small practice? Where do you live? Do you have a hospital preference? Insurance? So many questions to answer before choosing a physician? Are you OK with seeing nurse practitioners? Nurse midwives? We have amazing OBGYN physicians here in town! You will hear a lot of different opinions here, I would recommend calling the office and asking questions. Are you looking for OB care or GYN care?
Gina P. replied:
If you are near the Orange Park or Middleburg area, I highly recommend Dr. Hyler. He and his entire team are amazing. I have them now and with my last pregnancy, both high risk. I am very skeptical and afraid of OBGYNs so when I recommend someone it means they're really good. You should see Dr. Virtue. He was super gentle and never made me feel awkward like my first OBGYN did. He explains things perfectly and is always excited to see you. He kept conversation going but it wasn't awkward or weird. He's the only doctor I will ever go to in Jacksonville.
Heather M. replied:
Dr. Erika Glas at Baptist Medical Ctr. http://www.nfobgyn.com/physicians/bio/erika_d_glas_md I had a high risk pregnancy and she was awesome girl! I wont go to anyone else I am extremely particular to say the least. Her spirit is so sweet and she is knowledgeable, patient, and accommodating! I would recommend her to anyone.
