In the 1950 city directory, Thomas Ciancio and Norman Cady owned TWO Driftwood businesses: Driftwood Delicatessen & Creamery was at 85 Fairmount (between Carroll and West Eighth) and Driftwood Restaurant was at 112 West Second (across from Furniture Mart). I don't know when it moved, but the Driftwood was at 19 Fairmount in 1961, burned in 1966. As for the restaurant out Fairmount, the city directory doesn't list outside the city limits. I checked a 1949 Sanborn map, and it shows a restaurant, but does not name it. Sorry. [TJG]
