Does anyone know any veterinarians open in or near JC?

Veterinaire is open. They have two locations. One on Marin, one on Senate.

Love Veterinaire JSQ. I've had a dozen or more vets in my life, and they're in my top two.
centech replied:
Veterinaire is open for sick animals / emergencies with limited hours. Was at JSQ one yesterday. https://www.veterinairepetcare.com/

Downtown Veterinary Associates is open by first and Jersey ave. They are taking a few extra precautions like not allowing you in with your pet unless you're putting them down, and only taking credit instead of cash, but they are indeed open. PM me if you want more details, they sent me an email yesterday I think with the info - they are the vet I use for my cat and I highly suggest them.
I know Bayonne, We had Dr. Paul on Broadway and 9 street. My parents used West Side Avenue one by Lincoln Park for years.
Barbara K. replied:
I love Dr. Paul from Dr. Mammas office. 437-0100. Dr Tudor also has a Jersey City office on Heights Veterinary Clinic, Kennedy Blvd.3402 John F Kennedy Blvd W Jersey City, NJ (201) 420-4424 He has the West Side office too. Was my parents vet when they lived in JC
Vetsulin and U40 needles. I have a new vial of Vetsulin, which I haven't opened as my vet changed my dog to Humulin. Does anyone know a place where I can donate this?...

Another rescue that might be with contacting is see spot rescued. Otherwise posting on any dog-related social media page would probably result in good leads. https://seespotrescued.org/
Can anyone recommend a vet in or near Downtown (we don't have a car) Jersey City. I've been to Downtown Veterinary Associates on 1st street about 4 years ago and...
Erik J. replied:
It's not downtown but I've always had good experiences at the Animal Clinic & Hospital of Jersey City on West Side Avenue.
Erik S. replied:
Opps I meant Hoboken Animal hospital. On Washington.
Erik S. replied:
Btw we went to Hoboken Animal Hospital at 640 Washington. The staff, nurse, and Vet could not have been any nicer, caring, understanding, and informative. We were even shocked at how our girl Stella was amazingly well behaved during the visit. Of course she didn't act like that when we got home. Oh well. Highly recommend HAH. And although maybe more expensive it's very close by in a 5 min Uber car ride.
Brian W. replied:
I would only go to West Side for an emergency. That's just my opinion take it or leave it. There's a really good one in Hoboken that I can find out the name of. My current vet is Dr Santiago but he's in South Orange and not easily accessible without a car
Greg P. replied:
The best vets we've had in our 11 years with Cooper are the ones at Secaucus Vet Hospital. By a long shot. They're amazing. But you do need a car.
Erik S. replied:
Thanks for all recos. My cat sitter recommended Hoboken Vet so I'm I'm gonna give them a try. Funny the exterior looks identical to Downtown Vet except the color.
Brian W. replied:
I believe Hoboken vet and Downtown are the same vet, Michael Tuder. My friend Sarah is a vet tech there and says great things about him.

If you have a car, Edgewater Animal Hospital is excellent (20 minute drive). Very high-quality service. Reasonable prices (for the service — it's not rock-bottom cheap, but rock-bottom cheap is suspicious).

I like the Animal Hospital on Washington. I used to go the Infirmary on Adams, but it became chaotic after the pandemic
crossfockoff replied:
All the vets here are rip offs - if you have a car, go to the burbs. Also, go to a spay and neuter center when its time for that ~ $300 vs. the exorbitant prices they try to charge around here.
_Chemistry_ replied:
Animal Infirmary is my go-to but with the pandemic (and large increase of dogs) it's been shit show.
NJCrosstrek replied:
I have been happy with Hoboken Vets in the Maxwell complex. The prices are average and not far off from Vets I’ve gone to in the suburbs of central Jersey. The key to saving the most money(this includes at all vets) is to just ask for the prescription for medications and go to Chewy. The flea/tick and heart worm combo they charge like $210 for and it’s $140 on chewy. I needed a dewormer one time and it was $99 for 3 pills, chewy wanted $9.99 a pill

Avoid the lure of a new updated facility at hoboken vets (maxwell pl). They started off great but all of the original staff left as prices increase and appointment quality decreases. Havent seen or spoken to anyone except billing and maybe a vet tech in the past year but they charge for a full vet visit. Wanted to get a simple routine anal gland expression and all of a sudden they wanted 2 x the price and a full exam.
I had the most positive, caring and helpful experience with my very sick cat Pumpkin at https://www.facebook.com/metrovetcenter with Dr. Holly Hansen. I highly recommend...
Asli C. replied:
Holly Hansen is fab!
Laura Z. replied:
Dr. Holly Hansen is the best!
Natalie S. replied:
Dr. Hansen handles every case/visit as if it was her own. Holly is by far one of the best vet's I've ever worked with. She brings integrity, honesty and compassion to MetroVet, all at very fair prices!!
Anyone have a good vet recommendation for cats in downtown JC?
Ann B. replied:
Not sure about cats, but we've taken our 13 year old dog to Dr. Waxman at Metrovet twice since we moved here last summer. He's been great with our dog...sorry can't help you with cats! You can schedule an appointment, it's not walk-ins only.
Emily T. replied:
We've been going to Secaucus Animal Hospital for the past few years and they have always been amazing. We usually see Dr. Danforth. It's a short drive but they have a parking lot. Every time we go there I am amazed at the level of care they provide. Dr. Danforth would even email afterwards to check in on our dog. I've never had a problem getting an appointment and can't remember ever having to wait when I got there. The prices have always been very reasonable too, much less than what we paid at vets in downtown JC. Hope your cats are okay!
