Bob S. replied:
Get Laura Emme to tell you what it takes for them to make their pizza at uptown. My mouth waters just thinking about it

I'm really surprised nobody has said Chicago Dough Company...But I haven't been there in so long I don't know if it's still good...Used to be my favorite... Johnny's is really good too...
Laura E. replied:
Uptown's pizzas truly stand alone. They don't compete. Uptown Grille offers the origin of Italian food. Food from the motherland. Pizza from the motherland that is not altered is not changed and is the most authentic representation of pizza between Chicago and Champaign. Not only that, but it also happens to taste absolutely mouthwateringly amazing!
Gail E. replied:
Uptown Grille in Chebanse. Authentic Italian pizza, straight from Vicenza, Italy!
Bob S. replied:
Maybe Gail Emme or Laura Emme will know, this menu for Uptown is on the web. I don't know if it is accurate or not since it is not on Uptown's website http://places.singleplatform.com/uptown-grille-0/menu?ref=google

What is the oldest, still operational restaurant in the area?? I though of the Homestead. Other long time restaurants in the area?
Audra T. replied:
Pretty sure The Homestead has the record for being the oldest and the longest running. 101 years, if I'm not mistaken. Blue's Cafe is probably pretty high on the list as well
Debbie J. replied:
Homestead!!!!! Family House Sammy's, but not original owners. Same recipe Dale's, but not original owners. Same recipe. Blues Cafe, same family. Carlos, Same family.
