Gaslight Grill has the best steak I have ever had. Not sure if they participate in restaurant week or not. We like to sit in the backroom with the jazz band.

For something different, you might try https://www.facebook.com/1686331224968425 CACAO Restaurante in Prairie Village. It's Mexican, but it's not your dime-a-dozen Mexican joint that piles everything high with lettuce, sour cream, cheese, etc. (They don't even do that in Mexico...) Cacao is similar to what you'd find at a nice, somewhat higher https://www.facebook.com/99553873313 end restaurant in Mexico. I grew up in Cuernavaca, which is a quite "foodie" town about an hour south of Mexico City. Cacao would would be successful there. I would highly recommend the Chiles en Nogada. It's a dish from the mountainous state of Guanajuato, and is a poblano pepper, stuffed with a nutmeg/cinnamonish spiced ground beef filling, topped with a ground walnut cream sauce, and garnished with pomegranate berries. Oh, man. It is absolutely delicious! (you're NOT going to find that at La Fuente, Salty Iguana, Ponaks or Margaritas! LOL) There's a bunch of other incredible stuff on the menu...that's just my favorite. I don't drink, but apparently there's an extensive menu of drinks that you won'f find just anywhere either. I'm sure the menu on the website would tell you more... https://www.cacaokc.com/
