I use two Planet Bike tails on my road bike - a SuperFlash and a SuperFlash Turbo, both on strobe day and night. Both run on AAAs. Any local bike shop should have them. Aside from the usual morons and ne'er-do-wells, I seem to get seen well (knock on wood!). There are also some good usb reachargeables out there these days. Don't forget to run a good usb reachargeable headlight on strobe in daylight (solid at night unless you're fond of inducing seizures in yourself and others) - I use a NiteRider 750. You can also get reflective tape to put on your helmet, jacket, cranks and seat stays, etc. Some people also put lights on front and back of their helmet. And look for reflective outerwear, too, there is more and more of that these days. Every little bit of visibility helps. Ride safe!
