Can anyone recommend a place to board my dogs when we arrive? I need recommendations in Olympia, Lacey and/or Tumwater. Also, preferably a dog...

We have done Pet Brigade and our two fur kids always came back with ear infections and smelly bc they dont havr great outside play areas. The cost goes by rank and is definitely not the cheapest. We switched to Northwind on Yelm highway and our kids LOVE it! The facility is extremely clean and the outside play areas have fake grass which keeps them more clean.

My dog has never stayed overnight with Fido's Farm, but she used to go a lot for daycare and they have always been fine with me. They recognize her when she comes and she is always really tired from playing all day. It is a working farm and does not pretend to be anything fancy, so she always comes back dirty, but she is happy there. The only thing I worried about for boarding there was pine shavings in their kennels, but they said most dogs don't have a tendency to eat them (like I was sure mine would, lol). If I'm thinking of the right place, Northwind is right up the street from Fido's...might be worth visiting both to see what you think yourself And of course Platoon Pups is the best, but I think she is pretty booked for a while. Definitely worth checking though!

We've used Northwind Pet Care Center and McKenna Kennels for our pups and liked both. They have multi-dog and military discounts.
Vet recommendations- hey neighbors, does anyone have a great recommendation for a local vet? We just adopted a sweet lab mix and need to find one ☺️ thanks!!

I like Atlantic Vet on 23 rd and Rainier. You will also want to check out pet insurance, if your not interested in insurance Atlantic has a wellness plan.

Rainier Beach Vet is my favorite ... been there over 25 years.

I love Four Paws -- Rainier Beach Vet is also great but I switched to Four Paws because they are three blocks away and have treated my elderly kitty's ... digestive issues ... with loving care and she's doing so much better now.
Sara G. replied:
We love Four Paws and they are great with our dog's quirks. I have also had good experiences at Atlantic and Rainier Beach.

Urban Animal is the best! On broadway in Capitol Hill. Four paws broke one of my dogs foot when trimming her nails making her three paws.
Barbara P. replied:
Rainier Vet has been our choice for 40 years.
Allie H. replied:
Four paws has the classic large veterinary center rotation of vets. You never get to see the same vet thus never have any consistency with diagnoses and follow through. Rainier vet saved my dog after being misdiagnosed and I'll never go anywhere else. Dr Deal is fantastic!

South Seattle Vets in North Burien are open 24 hours, have a 'puppy plan', are very talented and professional. Dr. G. has a reputation for being one of the best veternary surgeons in the region -- performed successful surgeries on our dogs and cat, and they have the best fee structure we've seen locally.
