I took BlackJack to the Auburn animal hospital and they were awesome. He saw Dr. Robert Huang who was the most kindest and thorough vet I've ever been to. He spent over an hour checking every inch of BlackJack who was loving the attention. They took 5 xrays and thank God everything was ok. No masses or tumors just arthritis and nerve damage. I am so relieved that all turned out good. His suggestion was to exercise him to prevent stiffness and lessen future progression and keep him on the prednisone, gabapentin and tramadol to keep him comfortable. The total for an office visit and the 5 xrays only came to $329 which I thought was a fair price to know my baby is ok. I want to thank everyone who helped with all your suggestions and especially to those who referred me to the Auburn animal hospital.. Best Vet ever!!!

The only one is Dr. Chris Comeau that does house calls for large animals, but he's not inexpensive.

Vicki Boyer is the best in my opinion

32 Tobias, right in the center of Kernville. 76--376-1192 I had the opposite experience. I had been going the the vet in Isabella, my dog was really sick but her receptionist said she couldn't see me for the rest of the work week (3 days) and she recommended I go to an emergency vet in Bakersfield, so I called Dr. Boyer's office and they got me in on an emergency appointment. In retrospect, I'm glad because I now know how good Dr. Boyer is.

Both Dr. Brauer and Dr. Boyd are excellent--it's a win/win! In the meanwhile, try warm compresses to relieve the pressure.

Dr Land is the BEST!!! Ignore his bedside manner- he is the smartest. You will pay for a lot of nonsense with some of the other vets in town. They don't know their business like he does.

No, here in the valley. But neither Dr. Boyer or Brauer take Care Credit and a workup is going to cost about 600 with Dr. Lange. That is just finding out what is wrong.

Stockdale Vet on Nottingham is nice but I don't know their payment policy

I had two really, really BAD experiences with BVH and will not go back there. Auburn Animal Hospital is good. If you have an after-hours or weekend emergency, go to the Emergency vet behind the old Mervyns on California. They are a real emergency vet - not just a 24-7 Vet that schedules the new vet school graduates for the night and weekend hours.
