This precious boy showed up at our house yesterday. Does anyone know who he belongs to? We can keep him but we weren't really prepared for a vet bill at this time,...
Deborah F. replied:
I am so glad we found Dr. Lane in Farmersville! http://farmersvilleveterinaryclinic.com/
For basic yearly shots, we go to Tractor supply in Wylie on Saturday mornings. For more serious vet services, we go to Wylie veterinary. (The one up Country Club under the water tower)

Dr. Pipes at Countrybrook Animal Hospital near Firewheel in Garland. TCAP in Allen for shots/spay/neuter. www.texasforthem.org
Dr Taylor. Off of 66 heading towards rockwall. Let me look up name. My mom has gone to him for 20 years.
Mary H. replied:
Stacie Noble yes, Countrybrook does operate on walk-in basis. We were there Tuesday mid morning. There were 2 ahead of us, so not bad. They do have a sign now at check in desk saying your wait might be longer if you want to be seen by Dr. Pipes, but your wait time will be less if one of the other 2 vets can help you. So, three vets practicing there. Saturdays are extremely busy, so either plan for another day or get there very early. Weekday hours 7 am- 6:30 pm. I think they close a little earlier on Saturdays though.
Landon M. replied:
Dr. Pipes is amazing he lives in my neighborhood and have used him with 6+ dogs
Jeremy H. replied:
We use Wylie vet on Paul Wilson road, they are really good.
Mary H. replied:
Best vet I've found is Dr. Charles Pipes, Countrybrook Animal Hospital on 78 (Lavon Drive) in Garland. 972 530 3951 Great staff, compassionate vet, and doesn't run up your bill with unnecessary tests. He's even called me at home after hours when we've had an emergency. If your needs are for shots, spay neuter, etc. consider using http://www.texasforthem.org/services/specials/ They have a location in Allen and provide great service at great prices.
Ashley R. replied:
Honestly Banfield at petsmart is best for puppies. They have a puppy plan that is $25 a month for a year and includes all routine visits plus all shots and spay when old enough
Billie A. replied:
Love Dr. Pipes! Been using him for about 25 years or so.

Does anyone know a reasonably priced /low cost vet in Greenville? Needs to be in Greenville or very close. Thanks for any suggestions. The info will help out someone...
Jessica B. replied:
http://www.greenvilleanimalhospital.com/ is who I use and it's totally worth the drive for me. They're reasonable, not pushy, and willing to work with you financially. Both docs are really knowledgeable too. After hours they run an Emergency Clinic too in the same place.
Jessica B. replied:
Also Cause for Paws http://www.causeforpawstexas.com/ which is actually a non-profit - It's a little chaotic but they have hours where you walk in and wait for really low cost vaccs and their spay/neuter rates are usually way less than $100. They also do regular and sick appointments like a normal vet.
Lou O. replied:
Cause for Paws is who I was thinking of. I have known Michele Youts for years and that is also the same Vet. They primarily work with non-profits But the public too. Unless they have moved lately they are in a strip mall right on I-30 in Greenville.
Looking for a good and reasonable vet for our dog. Let the recommendations begin..
Marcus S. replied:
If you're just looking for shots, the Shot Spot is hard to beat. They set up in Walgreens/ CVS parking lots.. Check their website for dates and locations. Farmersville Veterinary is also highly recommended by my friends who have used them.

Our corgi, Rudy, was quarantined at Collin Co Animal Shelter for nipping a cop who tried grabbing him. Rudy had gotten out due to an unlocked gate. Anyway, the cop called animal control, and they quarantined him for 10 days. We got him back yesterday, and he's not the same. He's sick, and seems to have kennel cough.
Jenny C. replied:
I'm soooooooo sorry. Dr. Dover will fix him up!! heard alot of good things about the other doc too.
Ashley R. replied:
I use Pet Doctor in Rockwall. Have used them for years and like them
Jenny C. replied:
Ya, heard alot of good things about Dr Pipes! Never met them tho.
Wanda F. replied:
Don, Your pup wasn't vaccinated for kennel cough? If he was, you might want to hurry up the visit. As someone stated earlier at Farmersville you can just walk in, no appointment needed. I personally like that. Dr Spangler has been out to our place for colic, treated our old donk like a queen and saved her life.
Jamie A. replied:

For future reference- who do you use in case of emergency as a vet in the Lavon area? Or regular vet too. Thanks.

We just had an after hours emergency with our dog. We were directed to the Lake Ray Hubbard Emergency Pet Care Center. It's a 24 hr clinic at 4651 Belt Line in Mesquite. Their web-site is www.emergencypet.com. They did immediate surgery and were awesome. Just another reference for you if you need one after hours.
