Free public use gymnasiums? I coach a high school girls lacrosse team here in Lincoln and I'm looking for a spot to do some indoor wall-ball with a couple of my players...

I do not believe that exists. Can you not use the high school gym?

You're looking at public schools, the Y, or other private gyms. None are free, so what's the next best option? I would think asking a local phys-ed teacher might be your best bet, honestly. Other than that, there's a combined YMCA/School in Fallbrook that might give you a free trial pass for a day or two, but I doubt they'd be really excited about what you're doing if it does scuff the walls. What about some alternative options? There are some public tennis courts and plenty of parks to catch, if not wall-ball. Also, what about the outside of a building? If you went on a quiet weekend day, I bet you could use the *outside* wall of a school gym to practice...

Check with some of the larger churches as well... Many have gyms or rec areas

It wouldn't be free I'm sure, but Prairie Life Center on West P has 3 or 4 racquetball courts that would probably work pretty well.
Jodaa_G0D replied:
tldr its not going to be free

I believe Cross the Line church on Adams St. lets you sign up to use their gymnasium.

Lincoln Lutheran High School has a couple of gyms and a new multipurpose building that outside groups use. I don’t know what the financial arrangements are.

We would practice baseball in the gym sometimes. I believe 1 year tryouts were all indoor, cringe. But, if you're a club/not school affiliated I doubt you'll get approval, and it wouldn't be free. Would that not scuff up walls at the least? Also, I could see liability issues if a girl gets smoked IN-THE-FACE! Try the old Sports Courts, it's a dog kennel now, but I'm serious, it was a gym at one point w/ bball court.
