Traci Walters - amazing doula!!!! I had a very positive experience with the midwives at Methodist. Jenda Stauffer delivered my lil guy.

Barb Cassesi Hake does the most amazing Bradley Birthing class too. Between Barb and Traci I felt completely ready (in the only way you can when you have no idea how your labor will be). And at the event Traci and Jenda guided me through.

Kristen Treat is absolutely AMAZING!

The Midwife's Place or Dr. Finley at BMC are both great options. I know a lot of moms who have had great experiences with the Midwives at UNMC and I personally had an amazing experience with the Midwife's at Methodist. I would suggest she take a chil...See More

Any UMNC midwife or Dr. Finley
Jenni K. replied:
I've had a VBAC with both the UNMC midwives & the Methodist Midwives. They were both fantastic. Heather Ramsey is also amazing (she was at UNMC when I saw the midwives there). My experience at Methodist was actually a little more NCB friendly than UNMC, but I think that has more to do with which Midwife is on call when you go into labor. I had Jenda at Methodist - she was great.
Jenni K. replied:
And I absolutely love Kate Scott at UNMC.

Jessie Goodwin was my doula, shes great.

Midwifes are more likely to advise home birth and their presence often delays escalation to a hospital if things are going poorly. The presence of a midwife increases the chance of death during childbirth. I can find papers with citations if you want. Anyway point is if you want a midwife, still go to a hospital at the first sign things arent going optimally. Good luck!
