Dr. Sherwood, Dr. Lama & Dr. Ford@Southern Crescent are great- we've been going there for 24 years with all 3 of my kids. But I have to agree about the nurses- I don't care for the new ones. Their answer to everything is "you'll have to bring them in to be seen."

I was going to say if you can go to Locust Grove you need to to go to Dr Barnwell at South Atlanta Pediatric he is awesome. We have been there for a little over 7 years and love him. He is the only one we see. I would not recommend Dr Ron Smith I was t here the 1 st year of my oldest and he was the worst Dr I had ever met that was way we changed. Every time I took her he would tell me 1 of 2 things... 1 was always viral and give antibiotics after a several months I asked what keeps making this happen since it was every 4 to 6 weeks he couldn't tell me but wanted to keep giving her medicine that rash ended up being eczema ( Dr. Barnwell was the one who finally told me what was wrong with my baby) . So for 6 to 8 months she was on unnecessary antibiotics. He other favorite for her was it is just b/c she was early and has reflux but that doesn't cause rash and fever of 102 at 2 and 3 months old. I hated him Dr Smith liked the assistance and office staff but want to have a great dr for my kids and I feel he was not a good dr at all. Just thought I would give examples of why I said what I said. I went to Smith b/c I trusted the opinion of someone and always hated the fact that I went there.

Thanks for the examples Victoria Nicole Higginbotham . Someone already referred me to Dr. Barnwell before I even made the post and everything you guys are saying has made me feel like he is definitely worth a try. I'm a ftm so I'm just trying to get others opinions. Your post was really helpful.

That surprises me about Dr. Smith..I have experienced the exact opposite. I use essential oils in my home (for pretty much everything) but specifically in replace of OTC's and so far we haven't had to use antibiotics with my three children since we started with the oils. Dr. SMITH is very supportive of me using hollistics sources before just putting them on meds.

Dr. John mynatt in Locust grove . He is really good and my kids love him. His stuff are really nice and they know you my name.

Dr. Barnwell is the best! He does not push meds and he gets to the root of the problem. When I first moved here I went to Dr. Sankaran and he wanted to give Shelby oral steroids for a single bug bite that was not infected. I do not like drs who push meds on kids at all!

I also love Michelle in Dr. Barnwells's office Gage loves her and always says he is going to marry her haha.

I love Dr Leard he has been there for all three since their birth!! I can call anytime the kids love him and he doesnt give medicine just because!!! Good luck i know it is a big decision. Prayers for god to guide both.

I'm with Amie. Those are our pediatrician and dentist as well. Not only do I love them, my children do too. After several years at a sub-par PCP for myself. I switched drs several months ago. I now see Dr Amanda Gandy with the Laureate Group in Jonesboro of 138. It is a little bit of a drive, but she was outstanding.

We go to Locust Grove Pediatrics. I'm not a big fan of Dr. Mynatt because he seems to have a weird bedside manner with mamas (he is always great with Andy), but we LOVE the nurse practitioner Patty. The office staff is warm and inviting, they are willi ng to help wrestle unwilling children, and I NEVER feel like we are being rushed out. AND we can normally get a same day appointment, which is a big deal when you have a sick child. Some practices around here don't have any urgency about treating your sick baby...
